QUOTE(kuai_chai @ Apr 24 2010, 10:58 AM)
is LHDN operation open on saturday (today)??
on early of april, i submitted my income tax thru e-filing, and at the final page, i overpaid rm150+..

then yesterday i received a letter from LHDN, saying that
"sukacita dimaklumkan bahawa tindakan sudah diambil untuk mengembalikan wang tuan sejumlah rm66+. tuan akan menerima cek tersebut dalam tempoh 14 hari dari tarikh surat ini"

anyone know why rm66+ and not 150+??? i want to call and ask but seems like today noone answer the call -.-

@kuai_chai
You are not the only one who faced this problem. I believed several of us here had overpaid some amount, but refund was less than that. Please do check if you have paid your taxes correctly for the previous years.

@LYR
If you are doing Be form, answer is NO. If you are doing B form, chances are YES.

@kei18kun
You file your tax when you receive the B/Be form, whether it's online or offline. If it's your first time filing tax, then I suggest you to get your 'pin' through LHDN.

@alice08
IF you are working as a salesman and do not own any business, you are a salaried worker. You should fill up Form BE.

However, you receive a basic salary and commisions. You should have the EA form printed for you. It should indicate your basic salary and commissions. Should there be no indications of your commision, please declare your commisions under 'Keuntungan Lain Lain' portion.

@lthock
You cannot claim for tax relief for paying your study loan. The 5K is meant for Master/PhD/Professional courses only.

@zeese
You need to check your bank on the total amount of interest you have paid for the particular year. There will be transaction records and can be obtained easily.

No

@keyibukeyi
You need to submit your income tax no matter how much you earn. If you work under your family's business as an employee, then form BE, else form B (ownership).

In order to open a SSPN account, you need to have a legal child first. Yes, you will be entitled for tax relief.

@ryoutoko
There is a table from LHDN that shows how much tax you have got to pay. You need to google up wink.gif

You cannot use claim tax relief for data plan. This is what I understand from the tax agent.

Broadband <> data plans. When we talk about broadband, it's solely on internet itself whether or not it's mobile BB or fixed BB. Data plans are not broadband, even they carry the same speed and unlimited usage.

Has anyone called the LHDN officer about claiming an Apple Ipad2 under the RM3K tax relief scheme? The concept is like buying a new computer.

In fact, I have called the officer on the Ipad1 before for the income tax filing this year. According to them, buying an Ipad is equivalent to buying an Iphone, therefore we are not able to claim for the tax relief.

This is just to double confirm if anyone gets the same reply as me.
