This may be stupid, but I'm using Google Chrome.

Now that you mention, I might try using other browser blink.gif

Edit: Alright I'm using Safari now and the speed is around 240kb/s. I don't know if that's the speed for 4mbps but I'm happy biggrin.gif

Okay I'm getting download speed from around 380-430kb/s now.

Now I realize another problem is that when I load youtube, I always have to refresh once to get the 4mbps speed, if not it just loads like my old 1mpbs :/
*
Where you from? What modem model you are using? I'm having the same problem with some youtube vids. Once refresh, suddenly the vids will load faster.

I'm from Sarawak, Kuching. I'm using the modem TMnet provided, D-Link DSL-2640B.

Weird huh :/
*
I'm from Sarawak and use the same modem too. Maybe the problem is caused by the modem. I used different modem in the past and I don't think I have this issue, until I changed to the d-link modem. Or this problem is face by users in sarawak. rclxub.gif

Yeah me too. Maybe I should try using my own modem, but I'm lazy to change haha. I thought maybe leave it a few days and see how it goes.

Edit: What browser are you using? I was using Chrome until I gave Firefox a try, it worked like a charm without me refreshing.
*
Really? I'm also using chrome most of the time, rarely use Firefox.

I noticed that the problem only arise during the day and evening. Midnight usually OK. I will give firefox a try during peak hours.

nobody answered my question earlier.

if i want to cap my streamy to 5120, who do i call ? 100 ? or tm technician ?
*
The 1st choice is tm technician. If they refused by giving you lots of excuses, then you call 100 (ask for level 2 support cos the standard support know shit about this stuff).

If the technician or the level 2 customer support is nice and understanding, you'll get what you want. Otherwise, expect to receive 1001 excuses of why you cannot get 5120kbps. It depends on your luck.

if im an existing streamyx 1mb user now.. how this upgrade process can be done..? walk-in tmpoint and ask for this package..?

wad i mean was will the technician come to my house again to fix this fix that..? or a 4mb will be automatically attached to my line if i upgraded?
*
Just go to the tm point to upgrade. Of course technician will come to your house to test whether the location of your home can support 4mbps or not.

tm opened 5120kbps for u?

i get lower DL speed because of my wi-fi setting has changed to WPA2 ?
*
Nothing to do with wifi in wpa2. It just that tm capped your port or account at 4096kbps.

u mean torrent DL ?

You can try other download as well. Sometimes the speed is affected by the server or the downloading software.

does your house number change when u upgrade to 4mb?
*
Upgrade streamyx won't affect the telephone number. Unless you purposely want to change the telephone number.

No, he means that you should try a direct HTTP download. Example : download ubuntu.

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download

If you can hit ~450 KB/s (3.5mbps) or more, then your line is fine.

From what I can see Funshion delivers video via P2P, and you do know that Streamyx has been throttling P2P for quite a while now. So it wouldn't be a big surprise if you couldn't hit 3.3-3.8mbps with it.

Edit : Ninja'd.

Yes. Thanks for the clarification.
