Noon.

Just ended it today; Tuesday is the termination date.

Since 2002.
Even my Streamyx email was awesome; yusri@streamyx.com  laugh.gif
RM140 a month but with crappy speed, cap etc.

Trying Maxis BB (6GB) now.
RM98.

We'll see.

*
How much space did your Streamyx email have?

10mb or miserable space? We don't use it anyway.

By the way Unifi users get 2GB.What a difference...

Don't forget to update us on your Maxis Fibre Home BB, ok?

Rm140 hahaha...Just add a few more dollars at least I won't get pissed this much.

fiber 'pulling' effect. I am not very sure with it. There are forumer stating that the 4Mbps user is sharing the same ip block with Unifi user. Then, fiber transmit data faster compared to ordinary copper wire. Is like your house drain size, copper wire, 2 feet width drain then fiber optic =100 feet width. Which one let the dirty water flow smoother...heheheh.
*
A simple example would be your home gateway router at home. Assume you have 2 users connected to the same home gateway one with wired and the other on wireless. Disregard any QoS settings in place.

If both starts downloading from a same server, which would be more stable and faster on average?

Which would most likely occupy the WAN(internet) bandwidth more?

hey guys may i know if you upgrade from 1mbps to 4mbps... do you get a free wifi modem?
*
Yes, you're eligible because you're renewing another contract with them and that makes you no different from a NEW subscriber because you'll be tied for another 12 months. You're not paying anything less than a new order. Not just modem, but the new Panasonic cordless phone as well.

i asked the technician about getting a new modem but he said that if my modem spoiled only he will give a new modem to me... so he is lying right? do all technician do that... lol
thanks for the reply... and may i know does all the contracts last for 12 months or there are half a year or lower contract periods..
*
As long as you upgrade, you're considered renewing the whole contract.

You should ask them back, if like that then will my old contract tenure still continue on or if it has already ended so will I have no contract for this upgrade? If yes, then you are better not taking that cheap modem they supply.

Make sure they provide a black & white slip/receipt for confirmation so they don't argue with you in future.

I mean it's not worth it for that Riger or Innacom crap toy.

{EDIT}

Under the Home Plan 4M conditions, it says your modem must be a 4-port switch and a wireless AP.
The cordless phone must also be a higher end Panasonic not the crap Aztech for lower end packages....

You're paying more than a Unifi 5M customer minus the IPTV and speed. You deserve better equipment supply.

hey, i want to upgrade my 1m to 4m streamyx.. what modem/router they gave you?
*
The best combi set you should get now is the Dlink DSL-2640B 4 port switch modem with wireless + Panasonic DECT(with square dock not round type which is cheaper version for lower end packages)

This package Lelong is selling looks suspisicous:
http://www.lelong.com.my/d-link-dsl-2640b-...1-12-Sale-P.htm

Pay onetime fee and get free speed upgrade?

TM never fails to impress.

i scare if i go tmpoint upgrade they go give me the cheap innacomm shit like what they used to give me when i upgrade to 1mbps! should i "manually" request for 1?
*
All Home Plan 2M/4M must have an installer assigned to your house.

They will call you up before coming, so please state CLEARLY to him what you want and expect, else cancel the order and wait for another reassign appointment date.

Also you can tell the TM Point when you are registering to put a remark inside your order.

Panasonic DECT you can collect from TM Point personally with your application confirmation form signed after your line installed.

so when registering i tell him i want DSL-2640 modem?  sweat.gif

You can always ask and decide for yourself what reply they give you.

As a subscriber your bill will only take effect after the installer comes, setup for you and you sign for service confirmation and acceptance.
If you don't like try other resellers or TM Point branches.

I know different sub contracters and agents stock different hardware.

Some got inside connection get s beter equipment and some doesn't.

No proper standard and equal giveouts. I am not sure how can this situation happen.Last time I sign up got one dealer offer me Riger, other told me Zyxel, I went to TM Point later installer gave me Innacom then few weeks later I saw other reseller placing tables in supermarket offering DLink...

rclxub.gif

I mean giving cheap equipment indirectly is bad reputation to a telco companies. People would think wa I pay so much and this crap I get?

Business 101.

Added on December 20, 2011, 7:57 pmIn advanced countries like Japan, US, S Korea and HK, they want the added value, so telcos hand out startup packs like presents to customers.

That way consumers feel happy and have faith in them for the extra effort.

Competition is always good.

For those intending to upgrade to 4M please refer to this simple chart for maximum speed allowable(estimation) - ADSL2+ & VDSL2

TS, you can pin this up or place it on your 1st page.

user posted image

{EDIT}
Mine is already at 41-42dB so much for what copper can give me in my area. If you look at the chart that means the nearest DSLAM from my home is already 2.9km but TM system only shows around 1.5km.

Check your downstream attenuation and match the table provided above.

It'll give you a rough picture of what your line is capable of.

I just upgraded to 4mb recently.
Attenuation - Downstream (0.1 dB):  110  -Is this normal or bad??

And are the installer suppose to charge us a fee?? I got charge RM50
*
That's 11.0dB with the value your modem us showing.

Refer to the chart at previous page and see how much you can get roughly if you upgrade to VDSL2 or uncap your connection totally for ADSL2+

This looks so fake. Are you using some staff account to post your results?

It's impossible even with burst enabled and a physical line uncapped to 5mbps to achive speeds of 4.5mbps+ CONSISTENTLY
one after another for Singapore and MY servers.

Are you a promoter or public relations(PR) staff from TM?

Most of us here don't even get the opportunity to have our lines uncapped to 5120kbps and even so how is this possible when your account is actually retricted to 4mbps ONLY?

Ini mesti kerja dalam.

Erm nope.
I just registered with TM normally.
And the DSLAM is just outside my house, does it make a difference?
Or maybe the technician was good to me? Lol

Innocomm W300V.

Looks more like a modem hooked directly to a DSLAM port right next to the computer for testing.
8db downstream and 1.4db upstream attenuation. This is after your port was set to 5120kbps?

How can you consistently reach >4.5mbps half way between 4mbps to 5mbps on speedtests and still have close to subscribed speed for overseas server?

If this is not promotional marketing what else?

It has always been like that for Streamyx. You'll vomit more blood when you attempt to do a speedtest to US, EU or even Japan.

Most of the bandwidth have already been sucked up by the HSBB network leaving the Streamyx DSL with nothing much left.

ic but ive remember that dslam has ZTE logo on it SY VF5001 thats is the dslam no. maybe this ZTE cabinet doesnt support ADSL2+.tq.
*
What you're seeing is the casing box from outside.

If there's no ADSL2+ line cards inside you're not going to sync with ADSL2+ modulation.

They can even upgrade and place VDSL2 line cards inside if they like but it's not going to happen in Malaysia. Since it's going to cover very limited areas within 300m with very little speed boost for future.

*
They capped your line at 5120kbps and with that you've a download attenuation reading of 43.5dB

To compare, my line capped at 4096kbps has a download attenuation reading of 42dB.

You can ask them for a reason why they declined your request and ask them if you can setlle with 4096kbps will do.
