I kena tipu.my plaster ceiling for whole house cost rm12500 and contractor now say it does not come with painting..want to charge more..downlight holes confirm he will cut..now confirm electrician will cut and cost rm5/hole..first class pusing pusing..
I decided to get 2 Bangla workers to do it myself...don't want to give painting to that pusing man..
Just want to confirm...
I paint first layer with Jotun J0tatsealer 07 for primer then paint with Jotaplast (emulsion)...
The emulsion paint is cheap 18L for rm62...but the sealer is rm170 so can I just paint 2 coats of emulsion paint i.e Jotaplast?

You dont need primer for indoors man, just go straight for high quality paint. I assume jotaplast = maxilite (ICI) = cheap paint. Try pentalite or nippon pure white..I m using nippon quite beautiful

You must have plaster ceiling the whole house with some nice designs. A good plaster ceiling job will use water spirit to level.
Painting is normally not inclusive.
Do not require primer. Got budget paint better emulsion paint, no budget cheap emulsion will do too.

Do you mean that they first use laser levelling then later to use the spirit leveling upon completing the boards?

My 3 storey semi-D, 4700 sf build-up only cost me abt RM8-9k to plaster almost the whole house plus extended wet kitchen including painting. RM12.5k without painting is really very very expensive. Mine comes with 3-4 designs. cheers

I will be surprise to see the plaster contractor using laser leveling equipment. My contractor was using water spirit.
However, my window contractor was using laser leveling equipment.

People has been telling me to use sealer for plaster ceiling, but I don't know if they are needed. Maybe it is a good idea.
As for the paint for plaster ceiling, Maxilite is the most common. The white color is very nice. Matex is more "yellow" than Maxilite.
You may choose to use Maxilite for the whole house, but my recommendation is to use Nippon 3-in-1 for Kitchen, Bathrooms and Exterior Ceiling (if any)
I am contemplating to use all Nippon 3-in-1 white for my plaster ceiling in my new house, as 3-in-1 is the only paint that is waterproof currently. I have used the 3-in-1 previously in my current kitchen and bathrooms and they are still good after 8 years

according to the paint seller that I met weeks ago, he said using emulsion paint will have problems in time. The very common problem is dropping down of paint dusk (not visible by naked eye, but can feel it when u walking around) . You will feel your floor dusty even though you sweep the floor daily. For me this situation is not comfy, and the biggest problem is it will be harmful to our health since we are breathing in the tiny dusk daily. Advisable to use premium paint for the ceiling, RM220 for 18L nippon vinilex. Cheers. The sealer I bought only cost RM110 for 20L.

For sure he want me to buy premium because he can earn more... You are right that developer will 99% use emulsion paint when deliver the house to you, they want earn more what.... The fact that the problem do exist, because the condo that I'm renting now and previously is all like that. The seller just give us more options, I don't mind paying more to get better result and better living.
