Just received a replacement set of my iphone 4 from Maxis last week.
However, one thing to clarify... the set i received is a new set or a refurbish set? I heard many rumours that it may be refurbish or new set.
Maxis replaced the set for me without any box as they dind't request for my box when i initially hand in for replacement. It's quite unfair if the set is refurbish as my phone is only used less than a month. I rather they repair the faulty part instead of giving me the refurbish set as my 'original' phone is brand new 1.
Actually how to determine the set is new or refurbish?
I received the set without box so can i claim it as refurbish set? The imei number is different with my original 1, so its quite weird that my phone imei is different with my box as they didn't exchange my original box.
Maxis only give me the set and warranty card without any acknowledgement letter, so in future how can i claim that this is the replacement set from Maxis as there is nothing to proove.

Please share your experience if you have claimed it before. Thanks smile.gif

Most probably its a refurbished set. Check your model, should ends with LL instead of MY.

yeah, i dont think they can afford to replace with new one each time. probably you felt unfair they gave you a refurbished set, but it should work fine.

you can try to check for the production week here. http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

came across a replacement unit few days back with production date in January and model number A1332. not sure if it's a refurbished or new unit but production week tells that it's a 3 month old unit.

original unit bought during launch last September has production date in September and serial number ends with MY.

anyway, Apple's warranty policy clearly stated that they have the right to replace your unit with a new or refurnished unit. smile.gif

you can insist on getting back your original set but you'll probably have to wait 6 months to 1 year for it to be repair.

My replacement is next week... Actually after reading this I felt a bit sad due to the term for giving refub set for replacement... Whatever the condition is it is still not brand new. After fork out 2k+ for this and getting refub I think this is totally not fair sad.gif. I might want to check the serial number first thing... Hope to get a new one in a box... Finger crossed...
