DV4 simply proves to be not a heat generating machine. Well at least according to TAgReptiles on DV4 thread..

Just bear in Mind, if you get DV4 you wont get something as pretty 4830TG or N43SL.. just personal view. Though I havent gotten myself the laptop yet.

I settled with a dv4 at retail price of 4830TG with purchase of HP carepack as well. At 4830TG retail price. Yet to wait for its arrival.

Haha I think i'll have to play with all 3 before I drop some $$$. Really dunno which way, if the HP was i7, I would have bought it immediately.

I have a HP laptop using for more than 5 years! hahahahaha.. hp compaq nx6325.. the condition still look superb just it's already outdated!! just that the battery kong for 2 years already! so using power supply ever since.. lol

I was thinking to get HP DV4 based on the specs and price (as my budget is around RM2800) but I also heard good reviews on Asus N43SL and A43SV. Any reviews and opinions? I'm a student so the most I would do with this computer is just playing games, movies, and microsoft office since I'm not an IT student.

i was the same with you, 5 years and no battery haha...anyway my summary for my a43sv:

pros:
very study, i would say as sturdy as current N series biggrin.gif
i7 woot! (i5 would be enough for you though)
nice chicklet keyboard
big and smooth mousepad
in aircon room, palmrest is really ice cool

cons:
huge power brick
weird placement of power supply port( to the right of vent)
no optimus
sucky speakers
slightly heavier than average 14", due to build quality
no usb 3.0

overall very satisfied, i can live with most of the cons, just annoyed no optimus smile.gif

I just got my N43SL today. I can really assure you that the B&O speakers are fantastic to my ears. I would suggest to get the N43SL instead of the A43SV i7 because of the build quality and the speakers are much better.

Alright, good to have confirmation on this laugh.gif
Its basically a program which decides which GPU in your lappy to use (yes, there are 2 GPUs in your lappy; Intel HD3000 to save battery when you're not playing games etc; Nvidia GT540M for better gaming performance) thumbup.gif
