That article is from more than a year ago, many points are obsolete. For example, we all now have live wallpapers, wifi tethering, App2SD, etc. without requiring root.

After I root, I normally will remove the stock apps I do not use (including the browser), remove the lousy ringtones, and add screenshot app.

That doesn't work in apps. The moment you press back, it either goes back or exits the app. Don't tell me all those screenshot apps in the market are for nothing? laugh.gif

Better for you to get a good SP instead of those FOC SP, because my cheapo SP (Free) got 2 holes on it which I think was caused by the keychain I put on my SGA.
Yeah I know, it's stupid to put on a keychain and now I've removed it, since the discovery of the holes... laugh.gif
I went back to the shop and asked for a better screen protector instead of the same type of SP, I feel that my fingers can swipe across the screen smoother and less oily with the new SP.
BTW, EPIK case rocks! I got myself a Red SGA EpikCase, I was stunned by the quality of the casing (by comparing it to those pure silicone cases).

Hi, I'm new Android user here. Seeking advice that should I upgrade my firmware to 2.3 Gingerbread? The phone seller advised me not to upgrade as it will cause random turn off. I wanna know how true is that?

You should, but wait for the official Gingerbread. It's been released and should reach Malaysia soon.

Nobody knows. You should plug-in your Ace to Kies and check once in a while. I'm checking in this thread and once someone announces it, I'm going to update mine.

Lol.. That's not true bcoz the reason for GB release is for a more smooth and stabilize Android.. Even a 600MHZ cpu with 256RAM (Ideos X3) can support GB..
