no way i will go for N series. the keyboard make me vomit. no chiclet no life. haha.
*
seriously i dun see that as a problem... i ve been using the conventional style keyboard on my N81Vp for so long and it's no less worse than the chiclet keyboard on my MacBook Air...

but still, the best is normal desktop keyboard for me...

i m trying to find info on asus laptop.

but too bad, their site is very misleading and i cant find much info about A series model. You sure that it has HDMI pot?

Btw, got lag while using multitasking? cos as i know this model is using i7 6m cache memory. should be very fast!

the DDR3 ram is upgradable?

sorry for many noob questions cos i m deciding which laptop to go for.
*
yes it has, as according to Asus website...

look under the K series...

QUOTE(thieflord @ Apr 23 2011, 04:22 AM)
then what's the display port for?
*
cuz new monitors come with DP as well...

it's suppose to replace HDMI in the computer market hardware, but it's gonna take some time before HDMI will be phased out totall...

y dont they change it to bulletproof glass tongue.gif

edit: laptop in the future should all be...

->made of  stainless steel composite that is as light as plastic
-> bulletproof screen
->improvised fans which are smaller and stronger
->tri-fan design for gamers
->10k mAh battery
->extrernal speakers and woofer
->be able to handle huge wattage
->costs as much as today's laptops
->quad sli/crossfire .. (xD)
->unique design
xDD
*
a HP military laptop would satisfy the highlighted points... nod.gif

but instead of stainless steel, u get Kevlar instead... tongue.gif

I'm using U41SV, one of the latest in this series smile.gif a fine companion. Light (2.2kg) + good backpack + long battery life = extreme portability. This model has good build quality, better than the older ones I think.
*
that's the standard weight of 14" 2yrs ago... laugh.gif

the U41SV actually reminded me of my old laptop...

Bro i think you are quite pro on Asus since you are the thread starter. I'm really stuck with Asus and Acer now in decision of getting a laptop.

Can you let me know which should i choose? I mean Asus model. Budget must be below rm3000 and more on gamings.

so far decision is still on this few model :

1) Asus A53SV-SX106V - i5
2) Asus A43SV- SX028V - i7
3) Acer 4830TG Timeline - i5
Actually i also can pay extra for N53SN - i7 but got 2 major problems.

1) Keyboard i totally cant accept.
2) I heard this model is phase out? WIll they come back with new model with better keyboards?
*
gaming = emphasize more on GPU...

CPU is not as important...

besides i dun really like 4830TG due to the battery... integrated battery + dedicated GPU is a bad combo imho... when u run an intensive program, the heat produced by the CPU and GPU will affect the battery, and since there's no way u can remove the battery in 4830TG, it's like cooking it, and heat has been proven to be bad for battery cells...

if u really want the battery AND performance of 4830TG, take a look at U41SV...

pure performance wise N53SN is the clear winner here (quad core + GT 550M)... it's the current model in the market now... but the others won't be too shabby either since GT 540M and GT 550M are essentially the same GPU...

And then it got heavier for some weird reason...  sweat.gif
*
blame Asus N80V and N81V i guess... tongue.gif

they probably set the standard for performance of a top notch 14" and it's inevitable to increase the weight when u need a better cooling solution... nod.gif

ok thanks. so the N is really phased out?
*
no, N series = Performance while A = Entry...

they re juz 2 different lines of family targeting different market...

N53SN, N53SV, N43SN and M43SL are the current models in the N series now...

honestly the battery on my N81Vp is only slightly heavier than the old BenQ S41...

take it off and u can feel that u didn't take out bulk of the weight of the laptop... majority of the weight went into the heatsink and the LCD...

just read the specs of U41SV. what is so special? Why it is priced at rm2899?
1 more thing on Asus, there is lack of info on the website. and it is very misleading. until now i still cant confirm whether the A43SV/A53SV is aluminium silver or black in the inside.

I pm 2 sellers Hikari and Netherless. Both says it is black in colour ( whole black even interior ) but when i check at Lowyat building and PC FAIR it is aluminium silver in the keyboard panel.

and still i cant find many info on A43SV-SX028V.
*
light weight, long battery life with good hardware (GT 540M), that's the selling pt of U41SV...

then couple it with Asus' 2yrs int'l warranty...

4830TG内置电池的开关<<integrated battery = 内置电池 tongue.gif and 要想更换4830TG的内置电池 必须要把C壳拆下了才可以!
我觉得更换电池会比较麻烦,不建议普通网友进行拆解。 Not easy to take out sweat.gif
*
that looks more like ripping off the battery instead of sliding it out... sweat.gif

if lightning hits, the fuse should be the first to blow... then followed by the adapter, followed by the mobo...

battery depending on if it's charging on not, if yes then it's after the adapter, before the mobo...

hey guys im updtaing my ATI gpu driver. which one should i download, the catalyst software suite (1.1mb) or the full CCC (81.4mb)

btw i cant open my current CCC hmm.gif is it something to do with .NET framework? my version is 4 but after some googling i saw that CCC needs .net framework 2?
*
the software suite will check ur GPU and then download the full CCC...

if u re using Win7 or Vista u already meet the minimum requirement to use CCC... a bad install the previous time perhaps?
