sorry for noob question .
to format laptop,press f9 when startup?is there any cd needed ? ex : window7 cd ?

thanks for help
*
No cd, since it will use the recovery partition inside the HDD. Unless you deleted that partition, then you need to use disc..

Last time I put the bios file on NTFS, no problem..
You can just put the bios file on C:/
Then restart, enter to bios, there got option for ezflash, then just browse for the file and do the flashing.

If force the CPU to run at 2 cores only?
Go to msconfig, under tab 'boot', should have advanced, click it and under number processor, choose 2 or 4(if the max is 8) and restart..

^Assuming it does fit, most likely you need to mod the keyboard power to the usb port since your mobo don't come with the port for the keyboard backlit..

Considering to take off the heatsinks and apply my own thermal paste - would this be worth a try?
*
Might try it,
can you try to force 2 cores this time ?

or try use throttlestop to lower the TDP/TDC to make it less turbo boost, should reduce temp..

Since its using the old switchable GPU, the HDMI might be only connected to one GPU only..

Do you have Power4Gear installed ?
If that change to high performance, is there any flickering/blank screen for a while ?

Yes, and I am seeing it now on my TV.  rclxms.gif
What happened actually?

The HDMI is only connected to nVidia, so if you using Intel, it can't output..

Of course can handle, if it just for regular usage or movies..

Both can do everything, just depends the task lag or not..

In the case for UL30Vt, it will need to use nVidia for HDMI, since the Intel don't have any connection to the HDMI.
