Don't think can disable it, maybe uninstall it...

I was thinking of using the copper sink, so that the heat dissipation is better and the fan doesn't have to spin that quicky.

Directly link the fan to take power from usb port ? Constant power source, constant fan speed...
Adjust the voltage using resistor if want lower..

A42Ja didn't use GDDR5 HD5730, its only DDR3.
and better take A43Sv with i7 2630QM + nVidia GT540M if A42Ja really is retailing at SGD$1200...
or HP DV4 with i5 2410M + AMD HD6750M GDDR5..

Just think SSD as HDD..
Your notebook can only fit one HDD, so its either SSD or HDD only..

Time to change battery...
That means you only have 1/4 of your original battery life..

or try to full charge the battery, then use it until 0%, no sleep/hibernate, disable those first..

Then fully charge again, check the battery details again.

Set it to sleep and left it sleep overnight until the battery really empty..

For the critical battery level, can set it to 1% ?

A43Sv don't have nVidia Optimus, so its nVidia..

Can you try open up msconfig and disable all startup, then setting your notification, then restart ? See if still default or not..
