QUOTE(fuzzybear @ Sep 10 2006, 07:00 PM) what is the next missle skills or launcher after u upgraded from light missles? Frigates = Standard Missile Launchers (level 1 missions)cruise/seige/torpedo/ which is a better one for next ship like cararal or raven or ferox? Cruisers = Assault (level 2 missions) & Heavy (PvP) Missile Launchers Battlecruisers = Assault & Heavy Missile Launchers (either for level 3 missions) Battleships = Cruise & Siege Missile Launchers (either for level 4 missions) And optimum damage for each class of rats: Standard & Assault => rat frigs Heavy => rat cruisers & BC Cruise => rat BC & BS (cruisers recieve about 50% damage only) Siege (Torpedoes) => rat BS |

Aww... Red missed me already?
Yeah, EVE burnout is a common syndrome affecting pod pilots, including yours truly Better take a break now than suffer total burnout. That'll be bad Fyi my sub just ended, good timing too. Just need a bit change of scene. Don't worry, I'll be back EVE is a long term MMOG, and I know I belonged in EVE QUOTE(xavier7 @ Sep 14 2006, 10:56 PM) hmm... i'm using the trial account at the moment, in my Amarr Punisher.... read up some opinions of users, they fit afterburner to the ship.. and some other stuff which need more skills....arghh.. i'm using armor plate, and armor repairer only..... is it better to have afterburner?? Amarr's specialized in energy turrets which afaik are short range. An afterburner (AB) are needed to get in range either because of impatience or the rats are keeping distance too far for you to hit them lolz the Amarr agent always provide me with illegal stuff for reward, and even offer me illegal arms in exchange for 200 loyalty points... dunno wth are they thinking... before this, she ask me go collect 30 units of some type of drugs in exchange for 70,000+ isk.... hahahaha.... yeah not to mention some stupid Pax Amarr book (cant remember the name) written by their emperor or somebody.... lolz... I remember when ganging an Amarr corpmate in a mission. Me, a true blue Caldarian rails user, sniping happily, while he struggling to get in range just to shoot anything Amarr's are drug junkies. Another long lost EVE veteren \o/
Old old accounts are retained (I think...) About a dedicated forum, hmm... better don't imho. It'll be troublesome to maintain. In my experience in MMOG, it'll only be welcomed at the beginning, but later... it'll be nothing more than white elephant. LYN is good enough already. Anything that is "free" is good enough in my book Also unfortunately and sadly, an average pilots' EVE life are only about 7 months. Mission tips, basically: Level 1: Frigates, Destroyers Level 2: Cruisers Level 3: Battlecruisers, Battleships Level 4: Battleships For newbies, get familiar yourself with tanking. Though level 1s are not that hard yet. In my Caldarian opinion, either get frigs that are good at speed (Condor), damage dealing (Kestrel), or tanking (Merlin). Other races' ships, dunno |

Caldari = Hybrid turrets (Rails/range), Missiles, ECM, and Shield Gallente = Hybrid turrets (Blasters/damage), drones and (?) Minmatar = Projectile turrets, and (?) Amarr = Laser turrets, armour and (?) Note: (?) means there are more but I know nuts about them |

QUOTE(Phoenix Red @ Sep 16 2006, 06:05 PM) IMO should try to get to lvl3 mission asap since thats where ur isk will start building faster but try to get ur skills (missiles/guns n tanking capability) balance.. Wihtout those u will lose a ship or two but since they can be easily replace then it shuldnt be a problem unless u lose a navy issue ships then that really hurt your wallet. Losing ships is part of life in EVE so get use to it..... Lvl4 once u can solo is where the really bucks are in PVE but the jump from lvl3 to lvl4 is a biggie so watch ur self. But once u can ace lvl4 u get bored pretty soon so then prepare urself for pvp heheehe a totally different ball game. QUOTE(Nightfalls @ Sep 21 2006, 09:10 AM) i Still lurking in perimeter II Moon 1 Caldari doing quests from 2 agents at once.. still finding other stations with 3 or 4 agents where i can do 4 quests at one time... faster ISK... Undeniably, level 1/2 missions bored the life out of any pilots Today I got something for you guys. QUOTE(Nightfalls @ Sep 22 2006, 02:48 PM) I can do Lv2 Quests ?? till now agents available to me is only Lv1s... how to get lv2 quests?? my ship can hold lv2 attacks? Punisher with some basic lasers and shield boosters... Haha... quests? Sounds like WoW The better your standing with the NPC corp you're working with allows you access to better agents. To know which agents, open up the NPC corp's info. You can open that when you're docked in the NPC corp's station and click the blue info button near the corp's logo. Go to the "Agents" tab. Click to open up which agents' categories you want, for example kill missions category is Command, Surveillance, Internal Security, etc. You'll get list of agents you're allowed and not allowed to. The more you do missions for an agent, you'll increase "Agent Standing" with that agent. That also increase the agent's corp's standing with you, known as "Corp Standing", but much slower. Then for every 16 (or 18, forgot liao For level 2 missions you'll need at least a cruiser for the job. This post has been edited by XJC: Sep 22 2006, 11:54 PM |

GE lvl3 bonus room got a BS n usual frigs, cruisers, etc.. but not a problem if u can tank well but then make sure got enuff firepower to bring the bs down (not to mention enuff ammo). In GE level 3 (or any level 3s), where got BS? Hehe i just bought a wireless router thingy so i can play away in another room once my baby girl is born...wife complain say my lappy screen radiation will affect baby so go buy wireless then she say wireless"wave" will also affect baby.. so we get into argument anyways back to eve I see the lappie radiation already affected Red, brain "shorted" liao Yep, starting level 2s is to learn how to tank. QUOTE(idope @ Sep 16 2006, 09:47 PM) QUOTE(Hornet012 @ Sep 24 2006, 09:04 PM) j05h: Nightfalls: Got another EVE Permenant Resident fuzzybear: Just decline the mission. Keep in mind that you can only decline a mission for every 4 hours without penalty on the standing with that agent. You should get a pop-up window telling you if you're declining mission again before the 4 hours cooldown is over. Also you can fail your mission that you are doing/accepted by telling the agent you quit the mission, but you get penalty hit on your agent standing. I believe Caldari Navy (CN) have all types of kill missions agents (Command, Internal Security, Surveillance, etc). Btw, fuzzybear, you're not in the "Kopitiam" chat channel? Back in game!
QUOTE(j05h @ Sep 29 2006, 12:29 PM) After finding an 8-char macro operation in Charra, I was just thinking... Flip you mean take something out of the can? If that is what you meant, they have kill rights on us.Why don't a bunch of us start new alts, train for the biggest ships we can, and do a raid, find a particularly large op, preferably after the ebil macroers have had some time to rape those 'roids. We go in, bump them around, establish who the guards are. We flip a can, try to get aggro. If none, continue with others... If the guard(s) aggros, he goes pop. When all the cans are flipped, a couple of us start getting out haulers. The rest of us can then happily suicide pop the rets and covs and score some strip miners (hopefully)... Minimal isk outlay, and some fun to be had doing some PvM... It'll break the regular PvE or PvRoid cycle we got going. Or... We all use tanked haulers and raid all the cans and run and pray we have minimal or none casualty and profitable raids Or... One of us aggro and tank the guard(s). While the rest of us use haulers, and raid the cans. I got a specially alt char made last time to kacau somebody. Kena halau by the locals for... inappropriate hassling If more people join this op and strictly raid AFK macroers only, I can train this alt Yeah, this char is perfect for local chat smacktalk... but I rather not get into the alt's character too much |

I wanted to make my sigs shown randomly, but LYN doesn't support/allow dynamic scripting in the sig
I can use sites that host random sigs but that'll kill everybody's bandwidth because they reload the sig every randomness Dan, my trading hauler's sig: ![]() |

QUOTE(Nightfalls @ Oct 8 2006, 07:38 PM) I saw the specs of caldari Ships and truely they are very powerful As long as you understand and love your ship(s), fly them all you want Of Course it is intelligent to go for the Strongest Ship but hey... this game is juz so open ended... depends on how you show your infinite creativity on the Limited Issue... Right Btw, Amarrian ships are superior armour tanker, better than caldari shield tanking afaik. QUOTE(Nightfalls @ Oct 10 2006, 01:43 PM) It's true that you can create up to 3 chars per account. NEED TO KNOW ONLY
Stacking penalty 1st Mod: x1 2nd Mod: x0.87 3rd Mod: x0.57 4th Mod: x0.28 5th Mod: x0.11 6th Mod: x0.03 IIRC, mods that mentioned stacking penalty use this formula. As you can see, it is recommended to use up to 3 mods of same type. More than that it is a waste. For shield and armour resistance, it has their own calculation and the above stacking penalty as well. For example, shield's thermal resistance: Base resistance = 20% At 20% resist, the shield is vulnerable to 80% damage. 1st mod, a thermal shield resistance amplifier = 32.5% The hardener will negate 32.5% of from 80% of the damage Ship resistance = {Base resist.} + {1st mod resist.) = {20%} + {32.5/100 x 80%} = 20% + 26% = 46% or vulnerable to 54% of damage If fit in a same mod, 2nd mod = 32.5% Being a 2nd mod, it'll have a penalty of 0.87 efficiency. So = 32.5% x 0.87 = 28.275% Total ship's thermal resistance = {Base resist} + {1st mod resist.} + {2nd mod resist} = 20% + 26% + {28.275/100 x 54%} = 46% + 15.27% = 61.27% Notes: 1. Mods that give the best resistance are calculated first. 2. Ship's resistances bonus are calculated last and do not suffer from stacking penalty. 3. Damage Control mod is similar to ship's, that is it is calculated last and do not suffer from stacking penalty. I think that's all for another fact of EVE. Fly safe |

You mean Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane? Yep, as long as the second mod (and third and so on) that gives the same resistance type as the first mod, the stacking penalty will apply.
If 3 mods are of different resistance type, then there are no stacking penalty. Well, as long you know how to survive in EVE, that's the most important thing This post has been edited by XJC: Oct 13 2006, 06:26 PM |

Nice SS, Dawn
Working person I am. I don't smoke, drink and clubbing. Only occasional eating out and yamcha with friends. TV bored me. I don't have the time to grind level in today's typical MMORPGs. So I end up in EVE Worth to mention is the maturity of EVE's players, not all but mostly it is there. Well... except a few occasions of D*n**l T**/H*rn*t### bashing QUOTE Second account ah? Maybe I could... heheStudying ah? I'll never fail to fall asleep in 10 minutes or less reading the text book Welcome, Grimwrath. Your in-game name? Joined the nice in-game Kopitiam channel yet? See you there Normally it is advisable to skip Destroyer and directly train for Cruiser. Level 1 missions are easy for frigates, except World Collides (mass killing wise). Destroyer may make life easier but it'll worth your while to train your supporting skills instead. Unless you aim to be an Interdictor pilot, yeah, train that Destroyer skill |
