Received a call from 016-21602653. Her name called Chloe, she claimed to be calling from AKPA and ask me whether got credit card debt cannot be settled.

I have been receiving these calls as well. I would always tell them I dont have debts and hang up. But the next time I will play along. damn annoying.

Somebody must be selling contact numbers

New scam in town: I received a scam call today at about 3:41pm from the number 80394131810; the modus operandi is first to verify my name, ic number; both they got it correct .... then they move on to alert me that my card had been swipe at puchong as a cash advance rm7k plus then verify my credit card with the last 4 digit , which they got it wrong that’s where I got suspicious. Let’s spread the word n kills these suckers!!!!

To populate the database, I also receive a lot of Calls from AKPK "consultancy services". Once they even slammed down the phone when I grilled them.

Here's the story. This only started after I apply credit cards. And I only use 2 sources - either directly from banks or $+. So I guess that's where all the better-than-banks gifts came from.

need advise here.. yesterday received a call from +60147401460 claiming from SCB transaction department .. mention that my cc got cash withdrawal $7k ask me to confirm.. he manage to give me my full name and ic correctly.. but I don't have any scb cc to begin with.. should I report this to police? or to the bank?

Banks won't use mobile number to call you.
Just ignore it; it could be a scam call.

also, dont bother these type of scam calls. you should've known about it. it's all over the news, bank pages alert, etc.

thanks all for your advise.. I did highlight to him that if he is from bank then shouldn't use mobile number to call.. he keep insisting this is their transaction department hq number... I suspected it's a scam already... but funny thing is how can he get my details right with full name ic number and mobile number ??!

This info isn't so private nowadays.

1. Some banks or 3rd party companies (RP/CH/etc) could have sold out our personal data for marketing related activities including those contests you entered).
2. Several data breaches/leakages like ASTRO, telco companies and education institutions happened last 1/2 years ago.
