Cant find this info in their website. Will it be automatic or upon request? Visa Platinum or Visa Advance Platinum?
The eligibility for Visa Gold is RM30k per annum..and now can upgrade to Platinum already.
*
it will soon be posted up on their websites and in statements of cardholders.

no more Classic cards will be issued and minimum will be Gold.

process is automatic.

only Visa Gold -> Visa Plat (non-advance) will be issued new cards while for the rest, new cards will only be issued upon replacement/expiration.

no upgrades available for Master Gold.

I a bit blur here, you are not the first one to mention that you be upgraded to Plat. But there is no more HSBC Plat cards. Did you ask if you getting the Amanah card?
*
the Plat was brought back as Classic cards will no longer be issued. the minimum will be Gold, which will replace the Classic. hence, previous Gold cardholders will be automatically upgraded to Plat (only applicable to Visa).

it was announced by the bank a month ago. smile.gif

Yah, several people mentioned in the previous post. Would appreciate if any of you guys can post a picture of the Plat card when you receive it. And remember to photoshop it first, i.e. remove card numbers and name and expiry date.

will do so once i have received the card by end of the month as was informed. wink.gif

something to share......CL for HSBC plat principal card holder after the latest upgrade from HSBC smile.gif
I get this picture from other local forum, hsbc is really no control of CL, a 3.8K for "platinum" card. sad.gif

the main purpose of the upgrade is to get rid of the classic cards. hence all classics are upgraded to gold. in order to be fair to the gold cardholders, all are upgraded to the old platinum.

hence, it's not really a platinum as the new platinum is the visa signature.

all current upgraded cardholders still retain their old gold credit limit.

if the cardholder of the photo posted holds a gold card previously and was upgraded to platinum, even the old limit is seriously low for a gold.

in the old times, a gold cardholder will normally be upgraded to plat if their CL is around 20-30k.

HSBC are pretty stringent on CL, even for staff at officers/managerial level.

my Visa Plat was delivered using Pos Laju, they have been using courier services all the while. smile.gif

Hi guys, I heard about the HSBC card upgrade exercise as well. Just want to know for those who upgrade from gold to platinum, does it mean u only can upgrade to platinum when your gold card is about to expire? Or we can just request them to upgrade even the gold card is not expired? Any document needed for the upgrade? Thanks
*
new cards will be sent to all cardholders by end of the month. some already received it in August.

only applicable to Visa Gold to Visa Plat.

Mastercard upgraded cards will only be sent upon expiry/renewal.

does hsbc still practice application for cc via "prompt" method?

if yes, what are the limits from other banks they require for their VS and VP prompt application?
*
proof of income if required.
