i bought this phone around 3 days. I found some probs that really annoy me a bit.

cons
- youtube video bit jerky. solved after i restart phone
- wifi error. solved after i restart phone.
- youtube audio very slow compared to galaxy sl and desire hd.
- sim card take long time to load after restart phone. took it about 40-50 sec
- massive battery cut down. experienced last night at 2.00 am battery 68% and become 14% at 4.00 am (no wifi,no 3g on). now battery full, let see what happen next.
- UI bit laggy while i updating the game. so i just let the update finish first.

pros.
- fast surfing experience
- tegra 2, fast UI
- smooth gaming experience
- good camera in dark and sunny condition.

this is my experience with this HP, never root or flash rom.

hope gingerbread can solve all the issues.

I don't have youtube or wifi error
on stock without wifi/3g on the phone can last for 2 days+ in standby mode.
1 day in moderate usage and half day (at least) in extreme usage
first time boot up requires longer time because it's empty, after first run it will have cache therefore booting become faster.
UI is laggy, ya very true after changing a 3rd party launcher = win smile.gif

Camera brightness in my opinion is too bright although the pictures taken is perfect tongue.gif

depends on graphic driver and display brightness I think.
And also kernel (OC/UV)
Chainfire 3D/Pimp my CPU is quite essential if you're quite a power user.
But don't touch them if you have no idea what it is.
(I don't use them because I've not enough time to read more about it)

Intensive gaming, non-stop for 4 hour 20 minute, battery drop from 95% to 20%, phone temperature quote at about 37~42 degree Celsius.

Games involved : Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, FPSE - FFIX, Monster Madness.

Here we show some useful tips and tricks to increase your LG Optimus 2X‘s battery life.

1. Screen will always be your biggest drain. It uses more than 60% of your battery power. Turn display brightness down as low as you can (I set mine at about 15%), and setting the screen timeout to 15-30 seconds. You can also try black / dark wallpaper that uses less energy.

2. Do a software update – menu, settings, about phone, system software updates.

3. Install something like quick settings and place link on your main home screen, so that you can access quickly to turn say wi-fi and gps on/off.

4. Ensure any sync’ing the phone does, say email / facebook / maps, etc. is as required and not as often as the phone can. Mine checks my email every 30 minutes and I don’t use GPS unless I need maps.

5. Ensure USB debugging is turned on – this is mainly to reduce lag, but may well help with battery life. Go to menu > settings > applications > development, set usb debugging on.

6. Ensure your phone has a short screen timeout – menu> settings> power saver> screen timeout + settings.

7. Avoid Live Wallpapers. Animated wallpaper will keep the processor working all the time and it will drain your battery.

8. Turn off Wireless Network Positioning / GPS. Using GPS surely will drain your battery; use it only when you need it badly instead you use Assisted GPS.

9. Always Keep Bluetooth off When Not in Use. Bluetooth is obviously draining your battery if you keep it on all the time.

10. Streaming Apps Will Kill Your Battery. Audio or video streaming application (Youtube, Skype) will decrease you battery life fast.

8. Turn off Wi-Fi. If you don’t use it you better turn it off because it will suck up quite a lot of battery life.

9. If You’re Inside a lot, Having Wi-Fi Always On May be Preferable. Since 3G radio use more ammount of energy, so if you are always on hotspot area you can use your Wi-Fi instead of your 3G network.

10. If Your Phone Often Struggles to Find a 3G Connection, Disable 3G Keep searching on 3G connection will drain your battery.

11. Use Widgets Wisely. Terminate widgets that are unnecessary will save your battery life.

12. Turn Off Always-On Mobile Data. Disable always-on mobile data as it will decrease the battery use.

Yea.. Me too.. Lasted for 2 days plus when it's idle (with 2G only and without wifi.) Stock rom to be precise. Screen brightness - Auto.
IMO one of the big battery drainer is the screen brightness, try not to turn it till full brightness. I eats battery and hurts my eyes. cool2.gif
Youtube or wifi error? I never encountered such case either.. Better check your phone's connection to your router..
Last time i couldn't connect, tried to figure out why, in the end found out i've keyed in one wrong number in my password.. shakehead.gif

Yes. Undeniably, the flash seems too bright, even when in the dark.
However, those photos taken from my phone look so so SOOO nice, vivid with colours. But once when i transfered them to my laptop, omg the colours weren't as bright and as vivid.
The screen tricked me.. haha.. rclxub.gif

Been using my optimus 2x for about 2 months now and i have experienced this problem about 2 times i think.

When i woke up I saw that my battery was on about 70 %

Left the phone at home during school(5h)

When i got back home I saw that my battery was at 0%

Note that i also had no battery draining things on like, background data, wifi, bluetooth etc...

Whats wrong with my phone? sad.gif

QUOTE
Your Cell phone is constantly communicating with the local Cell network, whether you are using it or not.  As long as it is on it's talking with the nearest Cell Tower.....  Sometimes if there is an issue with the signal like possibly the Nearest Cell Tower is down or not working properly.  Your phone will then struggle to keep the communication going so it might have to use more power  to continue to communicate with the Cell network, this can cause exessive battery drain....  Since you're not there to see what is happening with the phone it's hard to say.  I would try putting the phone into Airplane mode, as a test, to see how it fairs while you are at school one day.  You will still get your Txt messages and Voicemail when you turn the data mode back on, but see if the battery does better.

QUOTE
-open dial pad and dial *#*#4636#*#* (If Testing menu doesn't come up than click "Call" and it will come up)

-Go to Phone information

-Scroll down and you'll see preferred network type

-click it and switch it to GSM/WCDMA auto

-click back button
