I'm looking for car that is between 50K-85K price. I don't prefer P2 no offense so lets cancel it from the list.
After going through many forums i heard bad comment on persona saying tht FC is high and wiring problem.I'm looking
for new car lor ...since i could not find any other car under proton between this price tag i have included vios and city....
Need some opinion ....wic car is gud ?

City driver reporting in.... FC not that decent. vios > city'09 >= persona. BTW... RM60K not enuf for city '09. Are you referring to second hand previous gen city?

Persona=60k. City=90k?? You wanna pay 30K(not including interest over your loan period) just to save a little fuel???

vios is best. no need to think.

bro ah... lets say u buy persona for 50k so u got around 30k to pump fuel....

if u get city/vios u have no 30k to pump....

persona's handling is the best among the 3 if u ask me, and it have the biggest space too.

if u can top ur budget till 85k, how bout inspira? manual only 78k and 1.8cvt 86k

fc actualy have alot reason, rim size, how heavy is ur food, ur driving style, etcetc.

no doubt for fc vios>city>persona. but remember again u have 30k of fuel to pump if u get persona~

you can take a look at a Toyota Vios 1.5 J year 2008. Selling at around Rm53k. Much better than a proton even for a 2 year old car

My work partner driving vios 1.5 J and he can get 80km per RM10 of fuel even on town driving. For Persona, i think at most u get is 55km per RM10 based on figures given by the owners in websites

Fc = vios
Looks = city

Fc is not really an issue for me as long as it is not too much. That's why i chose city over vios.
City full tank roughly 350-450 km, vios 400-500 km.

Between a car that does 10km/l and 15km/l, you only save rm65 for every 1k km. Assuming 1 year travel 40k km, total is rm2600. For rm30k, can last 10 years.

1. dont believe everything u heard or seen in forum

2. why only vios + city when u can get a fiesta for that price range? or even a latio (old stock)

3. FC is 99.9% of the times depends on ur driving behaviour, and how STRONG is ur right foot

I think you already have decided.

Good Resale value are for Toyota and Honda.

So those are you 2 options.

If you want a good all rounder car, then Persona.
FC slightly higer (but do you travel often?)
Resale value not that good (are you going to sell the car?)

My wife has a persona SE.

No doubt Vios FC is the best but City fuel tank is smaller. Persona spec to spec is quite ok but practically.... Proton still a Proton. Cursed brand. Always have "unknown" issue which need to rectify again and again. Anyhow, Inspira is a good bet if you have the budget. If i was in you shoe now... my only consideration would be P.Inspira, H.city, and K.Forte. Among these 3, myself rate inspira>forte>city. just my2cent. Don flame me.

RM50K-85K is a really wide range, already covered a few segments! RM50K-60K is only enough to get local cars, or really small cars like Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, Suzuki Alto etc. If within RM70K you can add Vios manual, Fiesta manual and Suzuki Swift to your list. Within RM80K then you can add Vios auto, Fiesta auto and Mazda2 sedan. If stretched all the way to RM85-90K only you can get City, Mazda2 hatchback, Kia Forte etc.

If your priority is fuel comsumption regardless of car price, then it's hands down Vios, no doubt. Fiesta is coming close in 2nd place, I would buy it if I were you. Actually... I did! Hehehe

New vios 1.5 AT J spec is ~RM73k
2008 vios 1.5 AT J spec is ~RM53k
Loss ~RM20k

New Persona 1.6 AT M-line is ~RM56k
2008 Persona 1.6 AT M-line is ~RM37k
Loss ~RM19k

So, which one has better resale value?

You have not calculate interest yet...

If you pay interest for 30k...say 3% interest...

If loan 5 years...=30 x 3% x 5=30K+ 4.5K=RM34.5K

If you put RM30k in bank earn interest at 3%, you earn additional RM4.5k.

your budget numbers got a very huge gap...!

if u ask like FC, resale value, spare part,

come on, its vios & City, go pick the color you like,

or see which service center near your house, then you decide which car to take ^^

aiya, the T & H badge makes you another person.

otherwise, why one would consider vios and city, but not forte and fiesta?

Seriously .. every car have its own problem .. it depends on how willing are u to bare the problems..

My brother owns a persona B-line ... the comfort wise is good enough for a 45k car.. problems .. yes .. few months ago the car broke down , crank sensor gone case .. claimed warranty on that.

My in law owns a vios J manual .. went to singapore the other day with the car .. the back seats are terrible .. and when it cruise till 80km/h .. i can already hear hissing sound from the windows .. rear side .. and my in law condem the clutch kao kao .. damn hard he says. Comfort wise .. i dun really see the point . Oh by the way .. 2 person sits behind the car .. around 120kg (both 60 + 60) .. with rear boots empty .. going to high humps .. good luck .. the noise of the roads and outside is equivalent to my myvi ...

fuel consumption so far the persona is within the OKAY .. as it was a manual as well . Vios has better fuel consumption i guess.. KL all the way to singapore .. back msia only pump (border) . But i do felt the harsh of the torsion beam .

30k more to save RM5 ~ RM10 a tank of petrol with backache .. u decide ..
headache with posible problem or not ? .. also u decide ..

i just need a car last time, so i target saga fl, then after comparing spec to spec with persona elegence, i choose PE.
my price range was within 50k, but why T & H 2nd hand car didn't cross my mind? well, it is the warranty. and the thought that u have a new car, not a 2nd hand with unknown or hidden problem.

seriously if i got 85k worth of budget, no matter how also i wont buy proton... i rather got for vios or city way better..

Persona IAFM Elegance Auto transmission here. RM10 100% city drive if you maintain light food can get 76km. So still want compare the FC with hear-sayer?

if u count for short run, yes persona would be cheaper but long run?

20-30k ,each month count rm500 petrol , how many years u get free petrol?
vios +RM20k need to fill petrol too not counted yet.

U go test drive all 3 brand which is 5 yrs and has same mileage and you will make up ur mind which car you will not want

with that price range, i would only think of forte & fiesta.
I would strongly suggest to test drive the fiesta. Fiesta also have sedan version if you prefer.

just get a persona dude,then spend the 30k put supercharge or turbocharge,confirm better than any toyota or honda,can tapau them some more,hehe...fc?i dunno,maybe more save i guess?but 1 thing is confirm,the vehicle stability when cornering is there for persona,the other 2 car lost already,like taufu car,corner buang 1.

say A (persona, 50l) and B (vios/city, 43l) with both cars' mileage is roughly 600km/week = 2400km/month
A needs to pump 5+ times/month = 47l x RM1.90 x 5 = RM446.50/month
B needs to pump 4 times/month = 40l x RM1.90 x 4 = RM304/month
not that much difference also...

if you drive more then it makes alot of difference. For eg: 4000km per month. then difference for petrol rm2xx but that's if you are driving that much. if you monthly hardly do 2000km then don't even mention about it. Cause the extra 30k and interest will definitely burn a hole in your pocket.

and of cos, the T badge Vs THunderCat Badge !! ^^

Take into consideration of service and maintenance of the car after 5 - 8 years if you think you will not sell the car after years of driving.

Share some personal info. Driving new CITY year 2010 now. Mileage 8k currently.

City driving - 60 - 80 km/h with frequent traffic light, and jam. FC at 10 - 12 km / litre
Highway driving - Maintain 120 km/h (straightly on highway, no city at all). FC at 15 - 17 km / litre

Just check your budget first, make sure you would not get too burden with monthly installment for TOYOTA / HONDA

Guys, ive been using ip4s Sg set for 1 month plus now. This is 1st iphone. In my opinion, i dun really like when sync the fon. We must use itunes. Futhermore, we cant sync using itunes with more than 1 pc because the library is nt the same. If we do so, a message will pop up n says that i am connected to diffrent library n all data will be erase. Its hard for me becoz i tend to connect my iphone to my laptop n sometimes on my pc.. Any recommendation? Tq

Planning to make grab or uber car.. which is aroun maybe 300km perday...

City 2016 E spec = 66k.. Loan 70k.. (secondhand a friend selling to me) (after next year FEB have another 4 years warranty with unlimited milleage)
Persona 2016 Exec = 55800 Loan.. (New) (3Years warranty or 150k Km)
