I ordered on the 7th sept. Checked again already shipped out from singapore. Should arrive these few days but my friend already left malaysia this morning. Lucky got another one coming in October.

Btw, only today they charged my card, public bank called me up to confirm the payment. Kinda funny, they never called me before to confirm an online purchase. Is that normal?

I think it depends, sometimes yes sometimes no.. If today only confirm then you have to wait another 14working days if I'm not wrong.

by the way, as @marcus20125 mention, local shop only carry the dm1-4010au not the starter dm1-4000au

Local shop comes with external dvdrw drive... I wonder if hp online got or not loh because hp site never mention anythinG about optical drive.. Btw I prefer the cheaper version cos I'm going to install win7pro 64bit.. But if I knew local shop selling I not mind get it earlier for slightly extra.

1299 free external dvd writer? interesting deal if it is, but still 200myr extra ...

but it show 2.2kg wor?

HP DM1-4010 (RM1299) includes the external dvdrw and a free hp backpack.

I don't know whether I'm just hallucinating, or aliens played around with my firefox cache, but I can no longer find the DM1-4000au (RM1,099) on the HP website. The only options for DM1 are the DM1-4010 (RM1,299) and the DM1-3206 (RM1,499 - orevious generation DM1 but with home premium 64), Also, I could have sworn that when I looked at the site yesterday, the DM1-4010 came with the external DVDRW plus an HP bagpack. Today, the DVDRW is no longer included in the package.

Like I said, I don't know if i have been hallucinating all this time, but i hate to say it... if you snoozed, you lost. Strangely enough, i had a feeling this was going to happen. The RM1,099 deal was too good to be true... for long.

if it is priced at 1299, then Asus 1215B is better deal because of USB 3.0,

Yeah, looks like that particular package with windows 7 starter is not being offered anymore. That's the one i ordered, hopefully it got through.

been looking at the site lately, and AFAIK, the dm1 does not come with external DVDRW unless in a bundle deal (which the dm1-3206au is having right now)
