QUOTE(ccschua @ Mar 9 2008, 10:34 PM) Just audition the Opera prima 1.5 driven with just the cheapo soundstage 1.5 tubeamp. The musicality is unending and the bass reaches where the heart beats. Janis Ian - guess you had to be there really sings and rings. I really wonder why the speaker so small can have such musicality output inc bass. so felt in love but not the price. tested at tong lee right? did u ask them to turn off the subwoofer? |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Mar 23 2008, 03:37 PM) Which mall in KL and surrounding suburb have more AE product for audition? Amcorp? you need a soundcard of course. don't need a DAC if you don't want to yet.If i want to use bookshelves with a pc, all i have to buy is Amp, bookshelf speakers and woofer right? Connect through optical? I dont need to use a soundcard or DAC to get superior sound into Amp right? Its hard to buy hifi without listening, to bad no proper Hifi shops in this town. you don't need to buy a subwoofer yet lah. u try out bookshelves first |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Mar 27 2008, 06:04 PM) Oic, i have philips aurilium as card. Im bass lover bah hahaha. Its too troublesome for me to buy 1 by 1 as i dun go KL that often. Havent gone since before they built the Petronas Towers. Only 2004 i transit to australia haha. used to be a bass lover too, but after u listen to a proper set up it will change your perspective on how music should sound |

QUOTE(rockccf @ Jun 13 2008, 04:11 PM) Thanks for reply. bookshelves won't save space unless u're going to put it in some shelf. u buy stand and put the bookshelf speakers it will also be taking up the same space as a floorstanderFor the wharfedale package u recommended which cost 1680, i think the mission is better than this, right?(compared the prices) for the wharfedale package, can i get Wharfedale 9.1 instead of crystal cr40? (if can, best get bookshelf speaker instead of floor standing, coz floor standing is too big to fit in my little room.) Besides, is the amp I've chosen OK? (i am looking for entry-level) (Coz i am not audiophile and budget limited,at first i was thinking for going for HTIB, but many ppl here say HTIB not good even it's cheap) Do you have another similar amps to suggest? Thank You. |

distortion or clipping. generally no one would turn it to that level, unless u just wanna damage the speakers or the amp on purpose
