I have a Sonic Impact T-Amp (defunct) and a drAMP

the drAMP is in a small system with Rotel RCD951 and Paradigm Micro speakers with a JBL PSW1000 sub

if you are serious about testing the T-amp I would suggest really efficient speakers (90db/w/m or better) - its only 6W into 8Ω so it'll struggle with bookshelves requiring some power.

Also, while the stock T-amp is a great deal for the price, it can be improved upon significantly, and one of the best Tripath amps you can get nowadays is local - Charlize from http://www.diyparadise.com/

the MA Bronze B2's are 90db. if i bi-amp then then it would be something like 6wx2 isn't it?

yeah i was thinking that. dunno if its worth trying or not. my current amp feels too weak, like not enough power. looking for something different now

not very big la. dunno the exact size. but higher amp power doesn't only mean it can play louder, more dynamic for me if higher powered amp

no i still say u have to audition. some characteristics are very strong in some speakers. i've heard the 9.1s in 3 different places and still never impress me. but the MA impressive even in 2 different places. the q1 only heard in tong lee but was so so for me.

the price dropped rather fast. a couple of months later can find for 1.3k. but rm860 is really cheap.

i'm using chord carnival speaker cables. the old one. new one different oredi. found some 10 year old monster cables so i'm bi-wiring them now. sounds a bit different. the B2 if u never run in the tweeter yet it's irritating and harsh.

my dealer was telling me that the NAD is very "sei pan pan" as in sound all the same. but the azur is mroe interesting as in different type of music it'll be a bit different. depending what u like to listen to, but i'd go for azur, remote control more solid summore.

the cd player n amp can make the sound warm. i tend to prefer warmer set ups

RM860 is for the old stock Black B2 not the Beech color ones but sound wise, they sound the same and honestly, some ppl actually prefer black as black/white/silver are more AV tech looking.

The new NAD325BEE is out but unfortunately only 3/5 by WHF.

Cheers

the black one is B1 issit? not B2? the tweeter not covered by grills issit?

oooo. not bad la. i should have went to the audio fair. wouldn't mind another pair if it was 860. really a good deal. the older B1 the grill is more like the mercedes star, the new B2 is honeycomb grill type. also i think removing the grill the sound might be brighter being metal tweeter and all
