QUOTE(viqq @ Jan 15 2014, 09:33 AM) IMO, they are not the best telco in town YET. Giving such compliment will simply make them never improve. Maybe you can say they are currently the best telco in terms of offering the best value internet prepaid package with free mins, but not yet the best telco in town. Nowadays, ppl seldom use sms and airtime via telco credit, what they need is social messaging and social talk, having said that a 1GB data + 50mins of voice calls top everything. ~ rm28/30daysSo much more needs to be improved. No international roaming (The BEST reason to MNP to Maxis for me), MMS never worked for me (Seriously, I can't get it work or maybe there's no MMS at all?), speed only fast in certain areas (Sabah), reload channels not as much as the other telcos (will be better over time). But I do like the freebies they give. Reload bonuses, MNP bonuses and etc. Abt Network coverage, if it dun work for you sorry pal.......its location dependent. Abt International roaming, get a Postpaid ( UM does have International Roaming on Postpaid) else, Prepaid International Roaming kills your Credit like fire on dry paper This post has been edited by digilife: Jan 15 2014, 09:58 AM |

QUOTE(viqq @ Jan 16 2014, 08:41 AM) So what you mean is, the best telco, but location dependent? Lol! That doesn't count as the best telco in town right? You should say it's the best telco e.g. in Taman Maluri / KLCC or whatever. You do know there's 13 states in Malaysia right? The best telco in town? Haha. Not in my books. I agree that each Telco have its strength and weakness as they will try to cater to every segments of the society. And as for international roaming I need it to send/receive miss calls/texts for emergency matters so I can call back with the local prepaid, not to call back with the U prepaid. I travel often, so I feel the impact of having no roaming. And a lot of my business partners are a generation behind. Many don't know how to use so called social messaging apps like Whatsapp & etc. So it's back to good ol' SMS. DiGi Easy is offering free calls to 3 buddyz (True free calls 24/7) instead of the UMI, where you call another U mobile, they will deduct your free mins first and they charge like .03 per sec at night right?. As for internet,I don't know what's the price for DiGi Prepaid, but Maxis is offering 1.5GB for RM30/30 days. 4G LTE. (Better coverage and speed anywhere). Overall I think each telco has its strength. I'm not saying that U mobile is not good at all, but simply complimenting they are the best telco in town? Typical. The best way to achieve this is get a dual sim fon which you can select the best Telcos that can cater to your needs. FYI, DG have launched a very good Combo for DG Easy, you get another 2 Buddyz ( for free ) when you subscribe to its Mobile Internet 1GB @ rm30/mth bolt on , Speed max at 7.2Mbps. So that number can be used for Social Apps ~ Whatsapp, Line , FB, Twitter and so on with only rm30 monthly and yet can call 5 DG numbers for free 24/7. At the same time, on your second sim card you also can subscribe to UM, without any package on voice calls of 10cents/block/30secs. Both sims can be used on a single Dual SIM fon. Now a topup of rm30 gives you 60days of active validity and some numbers that passed Active Validity period still can make calls out, [ on its passive validity period of 90days] ~ System Error on UM side. If you need to MNP any of your number/s , just PM me |

QUOTE(viqq @ Jan 16 2014, 09:42 AM) Yeah, exactly, but sadly, all we get in Malaysia is 2nd tier dual sim phones. In China, they have flagship phones offering the dual sim option like the HTC One dual sim, Samsung Note 3 Dual sim & so on. Can buy there , but some garage sale guys are selling here locallyIs it? Reliable sos kicap? But I'm tied to 2 years contract already |
