Wenger rates title hopes at five percent

Arenal are six points behind Manchester United with three games to go
Wenger has endured a difficult 2011, with Arsenal failing to end their six-year trophy drought despite challenging for trophies on four fronts until the end of February.

A disastrous two-week spell saw them lose to Birmingham in the Carling Cup final and exit the Champions League and FA Cup, before going on to lose crucial ground in the Premier League title race.

Victory over Manchester United last week kept the Gunners' slim title hopes alive, but they are six points behind the leaders with just three games remaining.

"Let's say objectively that we are in the title race, but with a 5% chance,'' Wenger said. "However, a top-level competitor takes 5%, and fights for it - that is what we have to show.

"It is in the hands of Manchester United, but we have a little, little, little chance only if we win our games. However, for Chelsea to win at Manchester United will be very difficult.

"No matter how small the chance is, I believe what makes the pride and the quality of Arsenal is to fight with any chance we have until the end.''

The Gunners' next test is a visit to Stoke on Sunday and though Wenger has had some disagreements with Potters boss Tony Pulis in the past - notably over Ryan Shawcross' leg-breaking tackle on Aaron Ramsey last season - the Frenchman insists he respects his opposite number.

"You can have disagreements and [still] respect,'' Wenger said. "I always give my honest feeling about things, that will never change. I respect every single manager in the league."

And Wenger even went as far as praising Pulis for the way Stoke have comfortably retained their top-flight status.

"When you look at the difficulty to remain in the Premier League, the fact Stoke were safe very early is great credit to them,'' Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.

"They have played much better [football] this season, and maybe that is why they have done better as well. There is a logic in the way Stoke build their team and you have to say Pennant has had a good season, delivering many balls for them.''

Wenger so optimistic

Bendtner wants and should get some major roles thus he actually should go if we can't get him a place here because he is the main forward/striker for his national team and potentially a national team captain in the future so he should play more and I think clubs like Coppenhagen can give him that.

I loled at Spuds. Watching their game now is like watching HK drama action pack scene.

Gomes - save 1 v1
Spuds concede a penalty for a super obvious hand ball, Gomes great save again but concede corner, Gomes drop the ball as he tries to collect the corner and conceded another penalty for dropping but this time Charlie Adam scores it.

And it all happen in the space of 2 minutes laugh.gif

Wow that is a very bad injury. Almost certain to be a broken ankle already.

Spurs really becoming just like Arsenal slowly with all the unnecessary loss and broken legs

Just saw a screenshot of Bale's leg, looks serious. Hopefully it wasn't a too serious injury to him.

Happy St. Totteringham's Day!

Made all the sweeter by Europa League 'arry! biggrin.gif

before anyone comes in and say, "cruel to laugh at misfortune!" etc. etc., this is the North London rivalry

Anyway, Stoke again tomorrow. We beat them strangely with a set-piece goal last time (Squillaci's saving grace). Hope we don't concede corners again, else it will just rub in the need to really do something about it.

Frustrated players... interesting. Like what le Boss said, Nicklas has potential and should stay, but he's not a player that any one will lose sleep should he decide to seek greener pastures. Gibbs hasn't convinced many that he is ready, but we've gotta sort of Clichy quickly. Gael's being criticised as the weakest link in our defence and fair enough he has made a fair share of errors, but he's still our best LB and without him we're actually much worse. Maybe Arsene already has eyes on someone else on the market in that particular position.

naaah..weve got too many leftback already. i dont Aw will get another one..

Good player who joined the wrong team, the dark side mistakenly. Too bad for him. He is a gunner as far as I see in him. brows.gif
