Very easy on the foot, Econ mode, highway driving, release pedal when going down hill, only driver no passenger most of the time......I expect over 1000km for the first tank of petrol......but this driving style is a torture.....gonna get my first service done next week.
*
Can imagine that e way you drive really took lots patience. I tried but gave up.. and could probably get around 6++km on the first tank.

Wanna ask u guys who gone through 5k service. How was it?

I'm a bit skeptical on whether HM technician competent enough to properly maintain Honda Insight.

As i remembered, some of earlier Honda City with CVT (2003) was incorrectly maintain, using normal ATF despite CVTF which cause some earlier batch facing premature gearbox problem. So much for an authorized service center for doing that mistakes.

This time they are facing a very new tech hybrid vehicle. Anything can go wrong if they didnt conduct proper service and didnt have enough training & experience. Even worst as the car was not assemble by Honda Malaysia so the technical know-how is very limited. Can we trust them?
*
Do you have a choice not to trust them? biggrin.gif

Embarrassing moments with honda insight is that your passengers complain that your aircon is not cool (new car some-more) although hearing the aircon is blowing. You need to explain to them that the eco mode is on n ac is off but not the blower. Honda insight shall improve its aircon panel display indicating that the ac is off when this happen, it will be perfect then.

How many kms u guys clocked for your first tank?

If got like this consider ok

I really salute those who can get > 800 km for the first tank. I could only get 570km, n now range showing 30km, so probably total of 600km.

Eco mode on, drive slowly (more lively when driving my myvi lol), no hard traffic jam, average 90km. Even though friends tested drive 2 times, it shall not caused the fuel to drop so drastic.

Anyway slow driving make me feel sleepy. Will drive like normal car n see how it goes for the 2nd tank.

totally agree...that explains the reason on why my mileage went higher (20-21km/ltr) using cruise control..
initially, i thought using cruise control decrease fuel efficiency as it always accelerate to light-blue until it reaches the desired speed whenever the cruise control is activated...

but surprisingly, the end results shows that my car managed to clock higher mileage using cruise control compared to manual acceleration even though i've tried my best to keep the speedometer green most of the time..
*
I think always on cruise control is the way to achieve better mileage. For my 2nd tank of fuel, I have clocked 19 km/l so far with trying to use cruise control as much as possible.

Anyone has enhanced the car audio system with extra speakers, amplifier, sub woofer while keeping the head unit? Any things to take note? Had your audio specialist complain anything?

I dun think so...especially for white color, if you dun apply wax at early stage, it became very difficult to get rid of those stains in future...
*
Ya. Seriously considering a wax for my pearl white. It's getting tougher to wash & clean the car. Clear water alone will not able to remove the stains....

Send my pearl white for wax @ RM 78. Result is ok. Next time will try the High Definition Wax from Autoglym which is RM120, the boss mentioned it can last longer for 2-3 months vs 1 months plus for normal wax.

Bought a spray sealant from Giant. Will apply it myself to give 1 more layer of protection....ks ks.

There is a tiny small chip on the bonnet... heart pain. But is inevitable ... car suppose to protect n shield us mah. lol

head to melaka from jb during the weekend. What I can say that the power of honda insight is simply amazing with the ECO off. As compared to my previous car honda city 06 vtec, the honda insight is much more powerful. For honda city when trying to hit 150.. the engine will sound so noisy and struggling .. while for insight it surge smoothly to 150km.. n certainly can hit 180km without any problem. Of course the fuel consumption suffer in this style of driving.

The 1.3L tag is so deceiving ... lol.. i'm satisfy with the power. rclxms.gif

I'm going to service my car tom at Yong Ming Jb...1st service....I will write in the experience there tom after service ... nod.gif
*
I've done mine 1st service @ yong ming a week ago. Some normal inspection done. They took out a filter from the bonnet and air blow it...

I personally prefer service at sutera auto as the workshop is not separated from the waiting area. At yong ming, you can only view your car being serviced through the glass panel.

I've done my first service, I was told that the first service is just inspection, just normal inspection. I asked whether got check alignment or balancing because recently I hit a pothole, he said need to add money  rclxub.gif .

He also recommend me pedal lock (locktech) and autolock (lock when brake is press only), damage is RM580 (Locktech) + RM220 (Autolock) = RM800. Both also need wiring, as he told me this is done by Honda and warranty is 1 year.

He also advice me to fold the side mirror whenever possible when parking, make it a practice, he say the side mirror easy to spoilt and sensitive, not sure how true is it but no harm to fold it whenever possible.

Service at 3S Honda USJ.
*
At JB Yong Ming, they quote me RM320 for the auto lock. Is too ex, i felt.

my SA even tolds me if i install other brand of tint than vkool (which is their official partner) will void warranty also, because when they install tint they need to spray water or what will may cause prob to the electronic components of insight.
*
cause they wanna you to take their in house tint brand Eclipse. My SA even told me to be careful of the circuit board beside the bonnet battery. But my tint man outside ask me how the spray or water will ever get there??? biggrin.gif

That was my concern also before this mod.

But confirm, u can disconnect the cables and reconnect without problem. Reset back the clock, bass, treble, fader, balance etc and off u go.
