Back from Ipoh, now my insight clocked 770km, still got more than 1/4 petrol left.

Econ mode on, average speed 90km/h.

After run in I will off Econ mode and drive like any other car and see what's the fuel consumption will be.

My only concern is that the IMA Battery is not design for country with extreme hot weather like ours.

Wanna ask u guys who gone through 5k service. How was it?

I'm a bit skeptical on whether HM technician competent enough to properly maintain Honda Insight.

As i remembered, some of earlier Honda City with CVT (2003) was incorrectly maintain, using normal ATF despite CVTF which cause some earlier batch facing premature gearbox problem. So much for an authorized service center for doing that mistakes.

This time they are facing a very new tech hybrid vehicle. Anything can go wrong if they didnt conduct proper service and didnt have enough training & experience. Even worst as the car was not assemble by Honda Malaysia so the technical know-how is very limited. Can we trust them?

For autolock... You can find bro Shorty... He got it... But price I think around RM150 since Insight more complicated mechanism...

Hope those stalled Insight was due to empty fuel tank. Well maybe some of the owner were ill informed and thought that the Insight can run on battery only, without fuel.

Otherwise, if its technical prob, we're doom.

cool im in. i met with my sa today n pay downpayment. i asked what if i buy d bodykit outside he said will void d waranty..kinda worries me.. n he did told me my batch is d last batch of hybrid to be sold by global amity. next batch is delayed 1-3 month n even say d price will go up to RM120,000. btw my car arrived at port 1/4/2011..after d tsunami..

Embarrassing moments with honda insight is that your passengers complain that your aircon is not cool (new car some-more) although hearing the aircon is blowing. You need to explain to them that the eco mode is on n ac is off but not the blower. Honda insight shall improve its aircon panel display indicating that the ac is off when this happen, it will be perfect then.

no need to change gear... u just manually set ur aircond... easy dat way...

Drive is Sport mode, it won't autostop on this gear

Planning to put that. The wiring can tap from 12V interior socket and reverse light socket. The camera can be mounted below bumper. maybe have to make some simple bracket.

So far i have only fixed my old dvd player. Next, tweeters and subs. Then only reverse cam.

Can anyone please advise me on how to remove this yellow stain? I suspect it is cause by road tar and I tried removing it with Turtle wax car wash as well as the Bug & Tar remover, but it is still there. I last wax my car about a month ago.

when u get the car, how much is the existing millage of the car already???

applied the SONAX coating on my car last sat. so far everything is ok. As being said the water will be quite slippery and is appear as a dot instead of a splat.



after 4 days of no washing and went thru all the raining and dustiness. just a glance, u wont really see the dirtiness, until u really wipe it with your finger


the red circle is i use finger to wipe it.

another thing which i like the most it, after rain and with all the dirtiness on the car, u wont have the stain like u usually have on the car ^^

this evening I drove friend to pick up his car at Honda workshop and saw few honda workmen discuss on the auto-lock system. Sound that there is build in auto-lock system in insight, just need to set something on the system. When you press brake or drive until certain limit, the door will auto-lock and while you placed your gearbox to "P", the door will become unlock. sound interesting.

Do your guy noticed this as well?

for that price just pay 500 more, and you can get PPS coating. permanent, 5-yr warranty some more. your normal wash/wax would not last more than yr before you hv to reapply

High beams are HB3... 12V / 60W rating.
