wah, u guys bising-bising over some trees issue?? hahaha
*
to me, i believe greenery here in sg is one of the major attractions to expats, tourist and investors.. look at mumbai, all their trees are dead yellow, look at indo, the trees in the cities belongs to halloween or at least some of them...

in japan, the sakura is a major attraction and a national icon to the people there...

therefore there's more than just trees...

Actually speaking of MRT/Bus ... how do you guys define "elderly?" sometimes i sit i see some auntie or uncle and I can't decide whether they qualify for 'elderly' ... so dunno should get up or not haha.
*
hair colour, muscle texture, face, skin... most of the time i dont sit... sat enough while i am in the office... some standing for better bowel movement

why sit?: dont need to smell bangla's armpit, can rest leg, can read newspaper & play with phone, dont need to play the balancing game

why stand?: better bowel movement, can squeeze ^^, dont get cough at, can look at those sitting down, easier to talk to a bunch of friends

when they lack of funds for election, or when a gomen officer wants to retire and needs pension...

all kinds of ways to benefit from contracts of services and hardwares that most of the time are redundant or not effectively used..

that's why we all left msia right? laugh.gif so we dont see our hard earn money in the form of tax get wasted...

example i'm currently sort of a hybrid IT/projects/finance line. in order to sit in my boss place, i need experience in running projects and some sort of formal qualification - either PMP or MBA in Proj Mgmt. The former will come naturally in my current role, the latter I need to plan with regards to sacrificing time & money & effort to get that qualification. Then after that it's a matter of looking for opportunities, whether it's within the same company or elsewhere.

And just to deviate a little bit on this topic, i don't understand why people are so in a hurry to get married? (not just WP, S pass or whatever).
Everbody wants to get married without thinking about the consequences. Its always spur of the moment kinda things. Later, after marriage then regret. Little bit then divorce. No longer working out the differences, etc like they do during my parents day.
Now even people with no money also rushing to get married. Don't they understand after getting married yr expenses are only going up? If u cannot even support yrself how to support family? In the end, its the sons and daughters that suffer. Irresponsible people!
*
i am pro-creation... and for me living with someone i love is more important than $$$ we all only need a certain amount of $$$.. anything more is luxury... actually getting married can save lots of $$$ if both have the same mindset... 1st step of economy of scale, a household... dude, you're such a pessimist tongue.gif

Lol...my gf saw ur post n she rofl...
She said u r no a different from those wp
From a Singaporean point of view u r just another foreign worker doing something Singaporean do not wan to do
Maybe...maybe u r one of the few person that are incited here
If u r that good probably u won't end up here too...ur company can just setup a virtual office for u to drop by maybe once a month at raffles...won't cost much just around sgd 30k per month
So u can work in Malaysia n get Singapore pay check
If u r well connected u can even get ur company do do spr for and let u contribute cpf...
So what's the point I'm saying all this?
When u r talking about someone...it's actually reflecting bout yourself

Oo I went to Expo just now to check out the Courts sale. Since I've only been in SG a few weeks maybe I haven't got a proper "sense" of the strength of SGD, but a lot of things there seem damn cheap leh. $10 irons, $3xx 32" LCD TVs, $2k 47-inchers, etc etc.

Too bad I dun have apartment yet so couldn't really buy ...
*
gov is letting the sgd rise to prevent inflation... at this rate... there should be one more rise end of the year... msia is experiencing high inflation due to removal of subsidies... and worse of all, the rm is kept low...

you can always buy and fill up my apartment laugh.gif

Anyone here thinking of investing in a condo or apartment in SG?

I feel that if you have the free funds, ie $70K or $80K for downpayment, can try to invest in some properties in SG as the properties prices in SG appreciates faster than MY.

Having said that, if you are eligible in buying a HBD, then it would be better.
*
got lor... wanted to get 3 friends to share with me to buy a condo, then sell it at an agreed time while leasing it out... but all talk nothing solid yet..

i got the $$$ for downpayment and loan... but not everyone is as committed as me sad.gif

Also, i heard tat if one want to get a 3 room flat, might as well get 4 room as the price is somewhere near.. Well, tat is what i heard. Also, 2 room is kinda small right? 3 room as minimum will be the best i guess
*
i believe with limited resources, it is better to buy what you need and what you can afford.. like me and i believe most msians can only afford hdb, but for me ultimate goal is the cheapest private property with the largest area, so i can get another property as an investment...

3 room flat means 2+1? is there such a thing as 4 bedroom flat? because if there's i would like to get one to bring my whole family here..

Hey guys, i went thru some of the job application in jobstreet, many of it indicated that they want singaporeans or pingapore pr in their jobs.
Is it true that most of the big company think twice before hiring people from malaysia?
Thx
*
there were some singaporkians grumbling about companies stating foreigners and prs only... last year at asiaone... my company is hiring aggressively... planning to increase from 260+ to 400+ staffs this year... currently now 90% malaysians... lol, look out jobstreet, company name confidential...
QUOTE(Jurlique @ Jun 23 2011, 08:46 PM)

QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 23 2011, 11:03 PM)
Btw, if anyone's interested in the Samsung Galaxy S II... Singapore sucks. No contract price here is $998... but only RM2090 in KL (Samsung shop) and HK$5300 in HK (Fortress).
*
u sure rm 2090 ar? the maxis postpaid plan damn exp leh.... also if u buy in sg can claim back gst mer... but if u buy in msia how to subscribe line?

m1 is launching it on saturday or sunday....
QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 24 2011, 12:24 AM)
The thing is that there are not many people who are still deciding whether to get an iPhone or Android. By now, you're either an Apple fan or an Android fan. Apple fans won't get the S II no matter how cheap it is, and Android fans won't buy an iPhone even if the S II was more expensive.
I'll probably get the S II from Malaysia on my next trip home and save S$150.

Added on June 24, 2011, 12:27 amLooking at how Samsung has priced the Tab or Galaxy S, they didn't drop the price much at all, until the replacement model was no more than 3 or 4 months away.
However, the telco subsidised prices with plans, did drop quite a bit 6 months or so after the launch.

Ya, RM2090. Cousin scanned the Samsung advert from newspaper.

How do you claim back Gst? You're not a tourist.

And why can't you get a phone line with a phone bought from Malaysia ?
*
cool... with the strong ex rate... worth it i think rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

i deal with a lot of foreign business associates.. can ask them to claim for me ^^ we usually take same flight overseas biggrin.gif

no no.. i mean if u buy the phone from msia u still need to get a line in sg... so how? pre-paid? have to compare whether still worth it or not to get it with a plan and get disc or get the phone and line separately... have you done a comparison before? unsure.gif i dunno lor sad.gif

The SG price difference vs MY or HK is more than 7%. 15% actually.

I have 1 phone line in SG, and I need only one phone line. However the contract is 2 years, but I like to change phones every year, sometimes 6 months when I see something new that I like. So I have to buy many of my phones without contract.

Launch is today. Samsung and telco shops should have stock today. The queues will be crazy.
*
hmm... i think msia the cheapest... must go grab.. AP go down as low as rm1910 .. lol., how to check which chip they have ar? i heard got 2 types...

u means u already got 1 postpaid line ctr... but the phone you would like to use another... so butt s2 from msia? then how about your old phone?

ermm, the stocks are for pre-orders... the next day then only open selling...

is the s2 really good? drool.gif my saliva tak boleh tahan...
