Both android and iphone battery life can be extended but you need to jailbreak both platforms. But android has finer power management tweaks which allow superior battery life, i cracked my andriod work phone and i now get around 2 days worth of usage even with listening to music, surfing and making calls. You can never get that kind of battery performance from a jail broken iphone.

But bear in mind my phone has a rather large battery for its size. Getting good battery life on the andriod platforms depends on the customized rom and the phone device. Generally cortex processor are more efficient then its snapdragon equivalent.

android phones can be jail break as well?... meaning dl apps for free? is that it? please share... notworthy.gif

Yeah I agree, currently planning to get 1 unit from KL, but sadly bus ticket all fully booked... still finding alternative methods to get 1 set from Msia...

I heard Msia SEP set comes with 2 years warranty, some managed to get it around RM2060+- (i think).

Anyway just checked Mobyshop:
Local Set $945

I still don't understand. What's the problem? You can still get a postpaid line from Singtel/Starhub/M1 even if you don't buy the phone from them, you know. If you already have one, problem solved.
*
1) get postpaid no phone got contract?

2) since getting post paid but no phone will the plan be cheaper?

3) or not wont be worth it right since post paid might as well get disc on the phone?

i am new cry.gif pls be patient and tolong notworthy.gif

Assumption: You only need / can only use ONE phone line.

(A) if you don't have a postpaid line yet - then get the phone + contract package. This is the most cost effective of all.
(B) if you already have a line - you don't need/want another line/contract. Then simply get the cheapest off-the-shelf price for the handset you want.
*
now i am using my company issued bb, which is hardly any good for surfing net.. i am also using a company issued laptop and they block certain sites like lyn during work... that's why i want another phone so can curi tulang and surf net XD

ohhh, so you meam someone like me with no contract is always better to get the contract and disc phone right? only when you have a line and wanna consider changing phone then only outright purchase?
QUOTE(yeahs4.1 @ Jun 25 2011, 02:01 AM)
Or,

you can get any internet phone package that comes with a number and a data plan. Sell the phone to offset the cost of your new phone. keep using the line and data plan. I'd say iPhone plan might works better in this case because the resell value of iphone is higher
*
internet phone package with data plan got call plan as well? ohhh... like that ar, good idea... lol

got plan for call and data but no phone 1 ar?

Why dont you request your company for a different company phone? Unless your company is locked into a corporate BB contract.
*
corp bb contract lor, and IT dept's policy is blackberry for the push emails... gotta reply bosses all the time... average bill around sgd 400-500 sweat.gif roaming kills... even when receiving calls
QUOTE(deodorant @ Jun 25 2011, 09:23 AM)
if any of you have friends working in stanchart, get them to apply the singtel iphone plan for you. it's $34/mth for free incoming, 500outgoing mins, 12gig data, 500sms, 2 year contract & iP4 32gb free. each staff can apply 3 lines/phones.

i dunno how singtel makes any money off this seeing as the iP4 32gb is $1k+ off the apple store ($34x24 = $816).
*
i mentioned last time before, but the downside is any problem you gotta talk to the corp sales rep/support... you cant just call singtel lor... my stupid cousin dont wanna apply for me cry.gif paiseh to ask his indian friend also... sad.gif but nvm ler, ipon outdated liao, i think get s2

Spoke to the corp rep about the iPhone vs the other plans. Smartphone plans are a flat 20% off, so following jurlique's link that would be $76 for 2 years for the SGS2. iP4 $34, SGSII $76 (2 years) ... more than double leh. Worth it? hmm.gif
*
friend... not fair comparison la... ur ipon plan you still have to pay for ur ipon... the s2 plan u compare has no need to pay for pon

I also get a strange set of T & C. One of them, "Upon resignation, we are not allowed to work for competitor company / industry for a year"...

So apparently I cannot do anything with useful effect after resign .. Change industry directly..
*
dont worry, most of the time not enforceable.. because there's a lot of vagueness... like how to define competitor? as long as you dont use previous company's work and confidential info then its fine...
