As a pass holder, you can drive any car that can legally be driven in SG for 6 months IF you are resident ie. residing/living in SG (as opposed to living in JB). After 6 months, all SG residents must use a SG license to drive any car in SG.

i believe it is 1 year, no?

my colleague drove the company's car and ended up being bang behind by a cab but insurance is not paying because he's on e-pass for 16 months already...

Are there many buses that depart from Larkin to KL every Friday? Will I still be able to buy the ticket on the spot or do I need to book early? I wanna try going back to KL once a month.
*
yeaps... friday more i believe...

i bought mine on the spot when lester ffk us... hehehe, of course i took leave that day and arrive around 4 pm...

it took me 1 minute after reaching there to get a tic... some guy pulled me aside and push a tic to my face... paid him, walked 200m outside of the depot compound and took a dodgy bus...

would advice to buy tics from a counter and also from a reputable bus company...

paid i believe rm 36... if i had remembered it correctly...

btw, your senior ask about you... lol

alamak, sry la last time ffk coz last min got stuff to settle. i took the SG night rider before. i took NR2 from Cityhall MRT back to my previous house in Sembawang, guess what, if i take MRT, i will reach in around 30 mins. i took the NR, i reach home in 1 hour and 15 mins. this is because the NR will make a very very long route before reaching ur designated place.
*
i thought usually ppl take night rider because the mrt is no longer operating?

how many ppl were there and did the bus stop frequently?

QUOTE(Nokia convert @ May 22 2011, 11:06 PM)
I believe you would have paid less had you bought the ticket directly from the counter. I'm trying to squeeze the monthly budget for bus within S$40 (2 ways).....not very sure whether that is feasible. I'm going to Larkin to find out next weekend.

My senior ask about wat?
*
ermm.. i paid i think rm36, at the counter i believe rm32... but i got on the bus straight away... lol

ask how are you lor... marcus is going to the states soon...

I don't know the SG market rate, but in Malaysia for O&G u can get more than sgd32000x2.4=rm7680 with 5years experience..
*
in msia 7k is about right... but 3.2k sgd a bit on the low side... but a lot of companies call themselves o&g but are not actually into o&g

work here stay msia

QUOTE(blanket84 @ May 24 2011, 08:20 PM)
Yes..that was what I'm trying to say..for his experience he can get around rm7k/month for office work O&G (not offshore). Then sgd3.2k is low I think..If 1:1 then he shud get sgd7k..
*
5 years exp 7k? i doubt... even banks dont pay so high unless you're a high achiever

If you talk about oil & gas industry rm7k for 5years experience is normal..even in banks is also possible actually, my friend was once offered rm4500 by an international bank for their training program (investment banker I think) when he was freshly graduated..he might reach 7k if he accept the job in 5years time..
*
5 years in the office? only companies like probably an ang moh company setup to outsource petty work... msia diff ler, i mean sgd.. possible but hard

does results play a vital role to apply for jobs in singapore? i only have 2nd lower class degree in accounting. MNC should be out of my reach. how about SME over there? i have friend working there as accounts assistant with <S$2K.

probably... i am in a medium size listed company and my results is even worse than you XD but i think i am doing fine ^^

Bus driving license ?

I don't think shipyard's salary is high ... maybe in range of 2.5k to 3.5k.. but they might get additional pay due to OT. Of course high bonuses.
*
actually kinda think of it... they pay you higher because of the safety risk and harsh working environment... so if you take in acc of that, the pya is just right... have to ask toughnut... he's in that industry

a company is a company... i dont think there's much diff between msia n sg, except sg does things in a more proper manner...

i took a 3 weeks holiday in sg without even looking for job..

The worse off would be the burmese since they have to pay tax to their government since their working overseas.

S Pass fellas have to pay 80 dollars a month in "income tax" to general than shwe.

At last PSN is backup, i can continue playing black ops.

yea, pity a girl in my company... that's why she she never returns...

huh? 80 a month? whoa... that's a lot

Hi,

If I havent worked in SG for few years and I want to renew my PR, will it be possible? I was transferred to another country by my company, so it's not like I left SG on purpose.

Can I still renew the PR even if I am not working in SG at the time of renewal application?

I also heard some rumours that government is forcing PRs to convert to citizen such as rejecting the PR renewal. Is this true?

i guess you can try with supportive materials for your reasoning...

61% looking to job-hop in next 3 months: survey

UP TO 61 per cent of professionals in Singapore are hoping to move jobs in the next three months according to a poll.

This finding was released by international recruitment consultancy Robert Walters where more than 2,835 workers took part in the global survey.

The results also show that within the Asia Pacific region, professionals in Singapore were most keen to move in the next three months (61 per cent of respondents), followed by Hong Kong (57 per cent), Malaysia (56 per cent), and Thailand (52 per cent).

Participants were asked when they hoped to make their next career move, with answer options ranging from the next three months to three years.

Other findings show that amongst respondents from Singapore, 24 per cent are hoping to move jobs in the next 3-6 months, seven per cent of respondents are hoping to move in the next 6-12 months, and eight per cent are looking to move in 12-18 months.
