K9 Mail or Aqua Mail, is what I recommend from others user who using it. But I don't use both because I'm using stock Gmail Apps.

Happen to me once before when I was using Nexus 4 in DiGi but after port to Maxis/Umobile no such problem, now I switch using Moto G in Umobile also no this problem. So maybe 2 possibility, either our current smartphone too slow to re-connect to the telco data signal, or either DiGi fault. LOL.

3) What method that you use to backup your own stuff?
4) Restoring your backup won't bring back the bug/problem to you, unless you tell us the above 1. and 3. question.

Do you still have warranty left? If yes, try to claim warranty for such incident.

Your problem of your phone is acting weird, if you don't have any warranty left, you should backup all your stuff into PC, and then unlock bootloader and root+flash it with CustomROM and CustomRecovery.

So now, you can do a factory reset and then try use for awhile and see the problem still persists or not, always update your device to the latest official version.

Lastly, I'm not sure your backup stuff will survive your factory reset or not, so to be safe, backup manually into your PC.
