QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 9 2011, 02:50 AM) Most of the time the bank allows temporary CL increase, but then it is still at the discretion of the bank. It's just a call away. Why don't you talk to CS first? Asking here does not help anyway. I did ask MB and Citi for temporary CL increase before but failed to get the increase for my Citi card. The CS told me my CL is already hit the limit for the type of card that I am holding. I can't accept it and wrote a complaint to the bank. Got a response saying that they will investigate the matter. Until now, more than 6 months, still no reply from them. MB is more straightforward. Got the increase that I wanted without hassle. Is it possible for Classic card to be given a permanent CL of a Gold card?

Today, I received a letter titled A Gift for You from Maybank. Well, it is the pre-approved Gold MB 2 Visa+Amex cards. In the letter says I need to fill up an application from and submit a copy of my ID when collecting the cards at the designated branch. I want to know if any of you have collected your pre-approved MB2 cards. Share with me if you need to fill up the form, etc.
The card accounts have auto-registered with my MB2U. Will I be charged the GST if I don't collect them? Actually, I am not interested with the cards because I am planning to apply for Platinum MB 2 Master next month.

QUOTE(nothingz @ Mar 9 2011, 11:03 PM) i received invitation from MBB for the MBB 2, no document required, just fill in the details and return to them. as stated in the application form, 10k TP will be rewarded with a spending requirement (RM80 within a period if i am not mistaken), equivalent to RM50 Is this how they treat their loyal customer who has been with them for more than 10 years? Nothing for me. BTW, there is no application form attached with my letter. The instruction is to go to the branch and fill up the form.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 10 2011, 09:48 AM) If you hold an existing credit card which you have been using for more than 12 months, just use it as reference without producing EPF/Income tax statement. Why take so much trouble to get CL increase? Just apply a new credit card from any bank in the country that you are working at the moment. Save on paying the conversion rates.

QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Mar 10 2011, 02:42 PM) I doubt it that they'll give you reason/reasons for being unsuccessful tho it amazes me that although my standings were way beyond their minimum requirements, yet it still got rejected. Surprisingly, Maybank didn't see anything wrong with requirements and got my M2 AMEX/VISA application approved and I have received the cards earlier this week. Different banks different policies. MB is easy with MB 2 approval because it is desperate/under pressure from the management to hit 20% customer growth. They approved new customers and pre-approved existing customers like nobody business. Source: http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...ource=BP_recentThanks Gen-X for the write-up.

QUOTE(spitzupipu @ Mar 10 2011, 02:58 PM) it sounds like you r despising malaysian who work in singapore getting cc in malaysia with their SGD income. what so bothering u mister? i applied malaysia cc when i was still working in malaysia and it is based on my income in malaysia. and now 1+ year over, i think i have ability to get a better CL and due to the exchange rate, if i am to buy a SGD$1.6k laptop but my cc only gave me RM3k, is it wrong that i think of increasing CL to avoid any inconvenience?? Cool down bro. I think what Hye meant is if you are asking us to give advise, you should at least tell us the full story. Only then we can advise you properly and accurately. No ill feeling here.

QUOTE(spitzupipu @ Mar 10 2011, 04:10 PM) full story like how i get the cc and how i landed in singapore and why am i not going to apply cc in singapore coz im going back to malaysia in couple of years time and why am i not qualified for singapore cc coz my employer is not going to give me SGD$5k a month might because of they despise malaysian in singapore just like Mr. Hye does? i don't think it is necessarily to narrate so much, actually i need the CL increased to purchase computer in MALAYSIA dell store. ok, now i am even telling you why i need it increased. please dear pro help me I didn't ask you to tell us your grandmother's story. None of our business here. We are trying to help. This is my suggestion. Go and ask for temporary CL increase with a phone call to the CS. Tell them that you are going to SG for a trip. After that, go and do whatever you want with your card before the bank reset it back to the original limit.

I like to hear from your experience. How many days does a bank need to process credit card balance transfer application? I am thinking of doing balance transfer into my OCBC Titanium card from Citi card to enjoy the 0% interest for 6 months.
I want to make sure the balance transfer is completed before the payment due date of Citi card.

QUOTE(shawnk @ Mar 17 2011, 03:35 PM) Is OCBC's CC still have the best rebate in almost 5% in everything? How does it compared to Citib*nk's Cash Back Platinium CC in terms of Cash Back benefits? OCBC Titanium is the best cash back card in the market at the moment. Go to the bank website to read up and compare. Answers are there.

QUOTE(sam2009 @ Mar 22 2011, 01:39 AM) if my cc limit is 60k...do i still need to submit my salary slip? becoz i quit from job for few years... Not unless you want to increase your CL. Why complicate the process? Just follow the instructions for support documents for existing CC holder. Added on March 22, 2011, 7:45 amQUOTE Issuers are also not allowed to offer a credit advance in the form of cheque payable to the cardholders unless the cardholders have requested for the credit advance. Just received a cheque from MBB by post yesterday. I didn't request for it. 0% interest for 6 months but come with handling fee. This post has been edited by milentechie: Mar 22 2011, 07:46 AM

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Mar 22 2011, 08:29 AM) First time I heard MBB giving checks to cardholders, 0% interest somemore. How much the handling fees? I used to receive cheques from CItibank but they never offer 0%. I have shredded the cheque. If I am not mistaken, it is around RM70++. I used to receive cheques from MBB 2-3 times a year. Probably, I didn't spend enough with the CC. It's their tactic to entice me to spend more.
