I've been wondering bout this question for sometime. How to check whether your monitor is good enough? I'm using Samsung SynMaster B2030, from the link given I can see up to 250. Good enough?
cheap and simple solution (maybe)? Print out the photos, is the result similar to the one you see on your monitor when you PP? Maybe you monitor very bright and saturated, so your PP time you tuned it down, the print out... Eh??? Or vice versa or other conditions.
any comments from anyone? especially those with tons of experience printing photos from different places.
you bring PRINT into the equation then susah liao.
different printer use different machine with different ink quality, and gone through different maintenance and also using different print paper.
That's what I've been wondering, if the customers bring the phoptos for printing, and the result turn out not as expected, how to make sure for these kind of scenario? Is there some sort of standard or specifications or something like that?
the thing with most photo shops is that their monitors are not calibrated...so the printer usually will adjust the CMYK settings to how they think it looks ok before feeding to the printer. easiest way is to tell the shop just print straight, no need adjust anything.
Thanks!

Not from wide angle to tele . Planning to have more lenses . 18-200 vrII and VR 70-300 are tought call to choose . I know 70-300mm autofocus is faster . 18-200VRII is mostly for everything purpose !?!?
I just wanna get a lens more than 50mm and above till 200 or 300 mm will do since i ady have 18-105mm and I'm still new using d7000 ( first dslr camera )
since you have 18-105mm, means you have coverage for wide angle already.
No plans for external flash? You want for gears weddings, events, etc. Flash is a crucial gear for these events, especially if its held indoor with low lgihtings.
I'm gonna take kenrockwell idea's , go for speedlite sb400 Looks simple to use
don't be cheapo You only buy once, get aat least a sb600, but advice to go for sb700. These flash gun you can twist the head and flash to the side or flash towards the ceiling to bounce the flash, it will soften the harsh flash and also lit up the environment. The effect you get, you will appreciate it a lot, and also you can use lower iso and/or faster and/or smaller aperture, lower iso will give you better image quality.
Will write in my consideration buying list , sb700 ! Goit it thanks !
Flash can bring your photography to a whole new different level. You need to experience it to appreciate it, and compare the quality taken with and without, and how useful it is esepcially shooting in events with group shot where you need to use smaller aperture and its lowlight.
You can watch some tutorial on some basic use of external flash and see how good it is, and there's a lot of things to learn with flash photography, it's not just a flash or simple light.
Anyone can recommend a good shop to get a camera in Sunway Pyramid? My friend wants to get a GF-2 by today cos he's flying off tomorrow. Called J-One but was told no stock now.
Pyramid? Don't, the shops are all under Fotokem. If you want to go for Fotokem, better go to Subang Parade one, or dSLR (in IT centre but also under Fotokem). In short, try to avoid these shops, especially the one at One Utama.

I think Fotokem is pretty famous (if you google around), however, you may find some of the sales may offer some very attractive and good price and also good service. I read someone get their D7000 at Mines branch for RM3800 when it was newly launch, that was one of the lowest price around back then. But other branches have different story. All I can say is, most of these shops, will tell you they can't give such price, and the common trick 'that's my cost price' and so on, they treat their customers as if the Customers is 3 year old small kids. In short, if anyone choose to buy from these shops, first, find out what are the price range, and set how much you're willing to go for. They're very very big company.
