I think most doctors have the 3D scan..just ask your ob/gyn. Which doc does she go to?

I went to Sarmukh (located along Jln Genting Klang). I didn't ask for the 3D scan but i know the clinic has due to the banners. Not sure how much though.

I'm not the best with either recalling memories nor money spent, but I am quite sure our doctor did not charge extra for our 3D scans, nor the printouts nor saving them to thumb drives... or maybe it was just us since having three of our kids pre-natal cared and delivered by him probably meant I had paid for quite a number of screws on that 200K++ machine nod.gif

Congrats on the coming baby mate!

i think it differs from place 2 place. my wife went for the 3d scan last month but we're not charged for it also. the reason for us 2 scan 3d is 2 check whether theres any clefts or abnormalities wit our baby.

Added on April 5, 2011, 5:23 pmhahaha..just call sarmukh..they do have 3d scan but only one dr know how to operate it, so must do appointment with that particular dr first...and i was wrong about the 100++ coz they charge rm200 per scan!!

Wow wow wow... where are these places you guys are going that's charging RM100++ for (3D) scans? ...I thought my doc was expensive, but don't think I was ever charged more than RM100 ever... okay perhaps when blood tests were needed...

...not sure if this counts as promoting, but I recommend my wife's doc to everybody who's expecting, or trying to have kids... I know at least two who've travelled from melaka here to senawang (his hospital bersalin) just on our recommendations alone... (but no cut in it for me...)

...the doctor is dr. sukhilmi and he is absolute first rate... so much so that after our very pleasant experience with him delivering our second child, my wife insisted that our subsequent babies be delivered by him, even after he moved from melaka to senawang to open up his own practise... he is pleasant, gentle and very experienced and knowledgeable... (yeah I am fawning I know...). One time (our third I think), we were in balik'ing kampung at kuala selangor when my wife felt -the- labour pains... I just wanted to go to the nearest private hospital but dearest wife insisted we go back to melaka to deliver (all our kids must have identical 06 i.e. melaka in their mykids/mykads... I dunno...), so at around 10p.m sunday night we drove back... (fortunately light traffic and a pleasant moonlit night). Phoned the doctor and he was also balik'ing kampung... in perlis! ...he told us to drive straight to the hospital and he'd meet us there... turns out he took the next flight out and we both made it just in time... I swear if the wife had to deliver in the car, I would not know at all what to do...

...going even more out of topic, any of you parents heard about the factoid that if a lady delivers her baby on the plane flight, the baby automatically gets a lifetime free rides on that airline? ...Okay just reading that, I have to admit it can't be real...

...back on topic, the 3D scans look real nice... remember to get the doctor to save it on video and more importantly, not lose the thumbdrive later! *doh!*

I wonder if that was ever true. It would be nice, makes me want to hop on the first plane i can find as soon as i feel some labor coming on biggrin.gif (jk jk). Maybe back when non budget airlines were doing really well some did this, but i would guess they stopped now.

I'm definitely going for a 4D scan (3D done in real time so as a video not just still images) towards the end of my pregnancy, pretty sure i have to pay extra for that at Sunway (where my ObGyn is) . My ObGyn said next checkup (should be around 20weeksish) he will be doing a 'detailed scan' to look for abnormalities (clef pallet etc) but don't know if that means 3D or what. Will have to wait and see in about a month, for anyone who already had a 'detailed scan for abnormalities' maybe you can shed some light for me, was it 3D or something else?

If i'm not mistaken, mine was RM200 - Rm300 at this place opposite SJMC. It's run by the gynaes from SJMC anyway. I think it's more important to do the fetal anomaly scan to have a detailed scan of your baby's organs and development.

the cheapest that i found is rm90 for 3d/4d scan..the price include pictures and video in compact disc. its at vision college in kelana jaya (which is a medical college, but they provide scan service to the public). 'scanning' time is at 2pm-3.30pm during weekdays and at 8am-12.30pm on saturdays. need to have appointment in advance. 0378038300.

I am not sure about Klang Valley, when my wife visit dr in SJMC they never have any 4D scan... but back in Ipoh my dr scan for my wife 4D with print image 1st time is free, due to the dr said the 1 scan is important, and I pay RM10 to request dr to print out subsequent 4D scan.
She did 4D scan every visit and if you request print out, only RM10 is charged, and my dr did slowly scan and take good picture of my baby using the 4D scan.
