Registered a BI account yesterday and linked the SSPN account with the ATM.

But today I see the option for SSPN is greyed out. Any idea if the problem is with my account or currently the linkage to SSPN is down?

Thanks

edit:- it's available now, maybe system maintenance just now. btw looks like i need to have the BI Go app to make the transaction right?
*
BI can only deal with SSPN during working day.

Sorry, just wanna confirm. My income got high recently and wanna reduce my tax.

I just opened SSPN Prime in order to save on tax, but not sure if saving for myself qualifies for income tax. Any answers here? I am single with no kids
*
No kids = no tax savings via SSPN. Consider using PRS instead, and evaluate carefully your insurance plans to see if you're claiming that appropriately.

Doubt so, n that would not be wise. In fact i am surprise that BI allows direct withdrawal of sspn to a 3rd party BI account.
*
No they don't. Withdrawal is only to your own BI account.

You can only do that when logged in to your own Bank Islam account. Meaning effectively you are transferring as yourself. Same as withdrawing to your savings and then transfer to another Bank Islam savings.

Sorry may be my english not good, but that is what I meant.
Login my BI account and transfer my sspn(i as the depositor) to my child's BI account directly without going into my own BI's savings acc.
*
This one can, but only for your own account. What mamamia was asking was different, like if your child want to use his BI account to access your SSPN account. That one I think not possible.

Thanks all for the reply.. so, generally, to withdraw at Bank Islam (Online/ Walk in), must have Bank Islam saving acc only can do that, am I right? Coz some only have FD acc without any CASA
*
This is an interesting question - does bank islam allow you to have an online account with only FD? If so, you can try and see if you are able to:-
a) Link your SSPN account
b) If can link - can you do transfer to 3rd party account as shown in MGM screenshot

I suspect you will not be able to do a) because if I remember correctly, linking the SSPN account have to be done at ATM not online, which means you need a debit/ATM card.

consolation is only can go to same name. others cant get the money
*
Not just same name, same IC number too.

And the linkage has been done before by you.

Same problem for the old PTPTN website (haven't test on new one), anyone can login and request withdrawal without any OTP, as long you know the login password can di. IT security fail. But only can withdraw to your own account so the actual threat not very big la.

One question on the SSPN, my father has been depositing with the beneficiary under my name, and I would like to withdraw for usage. I check the web and daily limit is 1k

1. Is it better for my father to personally visit PTPTN branch to request one time withdrawal? As opposed to repeated withdrawal
2. Reason must be valid? I will use drive for education, but not all, and have no health or death reasons
*
Are you sure you are able to withdraw your father's deposit? Or your father will withdraw for you? It is his savings account (you are beneficiary) not yours ya.

i was in the impression that he can initiate the transfer to my account, but guess not that direct, have to do some paperwork at the branch

If he has a bank islam account I think he can do that. But PTPTN website seems cannot, need to go branch do.

did you guys open SSPN accounts for each child separately (for those more than 1 child)?

apart from compulsory for getting PTPTN loan later, what else benefits if i open account for each child?
*
I assume you already have one account, normally for the older child.

Opening for the younger child have the following benefit:-
1. Can be 'fair' in amount (4k per kid for example each year) to tag the amount for child education. Not applicable if you are treating this just as savings account which belong to you.
2. Longer term of validity, you can only claim the income tax up to the child age of 29. If you open for the younger child presumably they will turn 29 later than the earlier child. This is a very minor benefit because so far ahead who knows if still got tax benefit also.

I've been depositing for 10 years now, others even longer. Always renew so far. See if will do so again next year budget.

Just to check, is there any due date for withdrawal this month? I think last time the withdrawal via ptptn website was disabled some days before 31/12. Is there such limitation if withdraw via BI?

Thanks
*
There's no reason NOT to withdraw right now. The way SSPN calculates interest with lowest monthly balance, if you withdraw today (any day after 5th) or 31st December no difference in the interest you earn. So withdraw ASAP if you're planning to.

The new/current website can deposit into any other account, not just your own name account. You may have mistyped the account number (your IC number).

huh? impossible because i logged in my SSPN account with my IC n password. Logged in successfully and my kids' names appeared. then proceed with Penambahan Deposit. Then proceed to Online Payment Gateway. and then FPX.

i've just filed a report. hope to receive an explanation from them.
*
Penambahan deposit page asks you to type your IC number first. If you type in someone else's IC number you can deposit to their kid's account. I know this because I have used this to deposit to my wife's account before.

Definitely follow up with them to get the amount transferred back. Suggest do at branch, not sure e-aduan etc how effective can it be.
