Shooting with two bodies and a few lenses.
Quite impressed with the clean iso for a580. But the metering macam a bit weird. |

QUOTE(ieR @ May 3 2011, 10:00 PM) unlike previous body with prevent highlight in metering, A580 are somehow set to higher, so u will get brighter photo then usual. u would get use to it at first... coz i didnt. A300 to A580 is a lot differences. the A580 metering somehow works almost like the LV metering now. ohhh.. no wonder.. but the colours also a bit different from my a300.. i dunno why i see other cameras punya colors so weird compared to my a300... |

just finished shooting a dance event. this is the first i've shot such low light events after calibrating my camera.
i don't know is it me, but the centre AF is damnnn fast now. hardly hunts at all!! even with live view! the only set back about this camera is the poor high iso performance, otherwise i don't see the need of upgrading. kthxbai. |

__________ Sony's colour separation is really fantastic man (though my words mean nothing as i've not used other brands camera's extensively to come to this conclusion apart from the bad canon 450D @_@ ). The Auto white balance also did a really good job here! JPEG shot fresh from camera! ![]() Colors! by zstan, on Flickr |

QUOTE(ahpingko @ May 6 2011, 07:57 AM) hehe this shot i didn't use flash. yeah the AWB rocks~!QUOTE(chiam dar siang @ May 6 2011, 08:41 AM) how you manage to take such a sharp picture? mind share you cam setting? and what lens you are using? i usually use my tamron 70300 to take picture, the result aint that good, many pictas are out of focus. Erm, i use my tamron 17-50 and shoot at 24mm @ f2.8 @ 1/50 iso 800. To get a sharp picture it's all about timing i guess...guessing where the dance is going to be and all..luck plays a part too.. didn't expect the shot to be so colorful.. Yeah for actions shots people usually use Continuous autofocus to continuously track the target. QUOTE(ieR @ May 6 2011, 10:51 AM) chiam dar siang: well, sztan uses tamnron 17-50 F2.8, not sure which aperture he used to snap that photo, but his camera is calibrated (fine tuning) base on the tamron lens by a specialist. yaya specialist. newbieeee: totally diff range lerrrr how to compare? Added on May 6, 2011, 10:54 amoh, shootkk answered newbiee question, mine seem so sarcastic... lol what he say is right, 17 and 24 is totally diff distance. u cant compare it like that. even so sony came out with a 16-50F2.8, the price is fairly 3k+ like the kownon and nickson's versions... |

17mm on a 1.5 crop factor is about 26mm is FF terms. It is still not as wide as the 24mm full frame. A 16mm can match its wideness though.

QUOTE(ReasonsofThanatos @ May 6 2011, 11:02 PM) though it might not be really relevant...wanna seek ur opinion as a tamron 1750 user, I found a really significant barrel distortion at the 17mm wide end, do you? i am not an architectural person so it doesn't really bother me. but yes there's the distortion, but not 'significant' la IMO.. it's most obvious when you shoot group photos though..otherwise i don't really notice it unless i look for it. |
