I see that the a55 price is dropping like crazy. Is something big coming up? Garage sales a guy selling a55 body only for rm1399. But no warranty. A55+minolta 50 f1.7 rm1800 drool.gif

hi guys,
can suggest some nice macro lenses which also good for portrait?

i was looking at Tamron 60mm F2 Macro, but the price is a bit too high for me...
Tamron 90mm F2.8 seems nice as well and cheaper, but would like to know if any1 can suggest a cheaper 1

on a side note, i jus started photography and are more interested in macro shooting
pls advise...

Get the Tamron 60mm. Then you wont need the 50mmf1.8. saves you Rm400 here.

Follow the path of a gearhead like me. No photos, all gear.

Simple and enjoyable.

If people want 70-200, i take out 70-200 as well haha....

*Seriously not a recommended pathway*

indulge myself wiv 2 m42 lenses, got cheap2. Yashinon 50mm F2 and Jupiter 200 F4 (aperture stuck at F4).
superb output in spite of poor optics (fungi)  blush.gif
suprisingly , old lenses perform really really good. no editing/enhancement done to pics below except the last pic add contrast.

MF with the Yashinon 50 f2 is really smooth, with AF confirm chip 80% of shot tact sharp even @f/2  biggrin.gif
but @f/8 and above, sometimes the AF confirm green box dont come out  hmm.gif
the 7x magnification focus on a33 really helps for when use without AF confirm chip  nod.gif

Firmware Upgrade for A33 / A55 Models

Available beginning June 20th, a firmware update for existing α33 and α55 cameras adds several creative and operational enhancements.

Support for the 'Picture Effect' function featured on the new α35 model is now offered. High-Speed Synch is supported during wireless operation with a compatible external flash (α55 only). Ergonomics are further improved with revised menus and a new mode that lets users switch shooting parameters overlaid on-screen for clear, uncluttered composition. The a33 and a55camera's Digital Level Gauge can also be displayed when shooting via the optional CLM-V55 external LCD monitor. Frequently used features can now be custom-assigned to the D-RANGE button for rapid, menu-free access.

Guys I can see a small black dot on my OVF. But it does not appear in my images ( Not sensor ). I take off my lens and my flipping mirror is clean ( Not flipping Mirror ). I use a blower to blow the OVF ( Where we put our eyes ) , Its still there. Its at the top right of the OVF. Where can this little thing be at? How to clean?

Im having the exact same problem as u.. Same location..
I hv actually asked at the sony style and they told me that I hv to send it to the sony center for the cleaning process as the dirt appear to be in the body itself..
