koup's pick up feels slower than the forte...

feels lack of power compare to forte during acceleration.....no idea why...eventhough the Forte is heavier by around 50kg more, and both have the same rim dimensions....

any idea of this?.

Bro, give us some short review on your car la instead of pure talk only. haha i actually quite interested with this car. RM114k for a Coupe/Koup seems reasonable.
Driving experience
FC
Maintenance
Modifications

etc etc. Anything related to the car which you need to highlight.

OTR but it was a test unit. White colour. Someone was test-driving it along Bangsar to Hartamas. Do you know the yearly tax and insurance for it?

heard the roadtax will follow sports car segment.

got this fm Carmag website...0-100 in 9.69 (M)

"The 2,0-litre, four-cylinder engine develops 115 kW at 6 200 r/min and 194 N.m of torque at 4 300 r/min, which are reasonable outputs. But despite the engine's free-revving nature it lacks the sort of punch that would have lent the car a sportier edge.

There was also a feeling among a couple of the testers that there is a big jump between 2nd and 3rd gears resulting in a flat spot that mildly blunts the acceleration.

Even so, the gearshift is slick and precise, and we managed to achieve a best 0 to 100 km/h time of 9,69 seconds - not too far from the manufacturer's 9,3-second claimed figure."

Nope. Koup should be slightly faster although the difference is pretty negligible in everyday driving.

It's probably the "feel" that gives the illusion of it being slower given its sporty exterior; but it is after all a two door version of the sedan rather than a purebred sports coupe.

The GEMA 2.0 Theta II is a naturally aspirated engine designed for C-segment sedans which (on paper) provides the most punch amongst its rivals. None of the other current C-segment sedans will provide the same kind of output as the newer GDI engines, let alone turbocharged units which many German carmakers are implementing.

Unless, the Koup gets the concept KOUP's turbocharged engine. Or Kia decides to use the Optima/Sportage 2.0T's engine to produce a more higher spec version of the Koup although it'll be less powerful than the KOUP. The Genesis coupe follows this route with an entry level 2.0 and a 3.8 V6.

The Koup is the only one in its segment - it's been a while since other carmakers released affordable two door coupes eg Civic Si and Lancer coupe/Putra. You buy the Koup for the feel good factor, but probably will lose pretty much every traffic light drag to riced-up sedans or hatchbacks. It's a good move by Naza to only bring in the Koup now instead of launching it together with the Forte 2 years ago - 6 speed tranny is more attractive not to mention the LED rear lamps.
