Hi sai86,

You can based on the models to search for the Gamefirst III.

For example, Rampage V Extreme.

ASUSmy, I just bought a 390 STRIX
To be honest, I'm not really satisfied with the temperatures. 65°C on idle is quite alarming for me

If I were to change the heatsink to Arctic Accelero Hybrid III-140, will it void the warranty?

Hi sHawTY,

Sorry for the late reply, you can use the liquid cooling on the card. As long as there is no physical damage on the card then you won't have any problem claiming warranty if something happen.

Thank you

ASUSmy something is definitely wrong with my card
On idle (nothing on the screen at all) the temperatures is 61°C
When playing Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012, the temperature rises to 98°C and the fans only run at 65%

No, ASUS GPU Tweak II doesn't help
When I boosted the fan to a fixed 100%, the temperatures is 89°C
Is this normal for R9 390 Strix?

Will it void the warranty if I replace the thermal paste?
I'm guessing there might be a loose screw or maybe there's too little or too much thermal paste
Or perhaps the direct touch heatpipe is not having a good contact with the GPU chip

The airflow in my casing is definitely good

With only 38°C on idle & 65°C while gaming

I've removed the old thermal paste (you guys use too much by the way) rclxub.gif

Cleaned everything with ArctiClean, use Arctic Mx4, temperature drop 8°C when on load thumbsup.gif

using z97 gryphon now, i would like to know how can i troubleshoot slow POST booting?
it takes around 1min-2min to get into bios or window logo.
its like checking a bunch of things before getting into it hmm.gif

things i tried - disconnect all USB except mouse and KB.
will try to disconnect all HDD except the main drive.

other than the above 2, what other things i still can try or configure?
- POST loading delay = 0
- Fast boot - ON
- UEFI Boot atm.

Hi sai86,

Want to ask, when the slow boot happen, do you notice where is the POST state LED light stopped?

And try updating the BIOS to the latest.

Hi sai86,

If you unplug the main drive too? Will you see the ASUS post screen run normally?

Thank you

Hi sai86,

Maybe you can try clearing the CMOS and load everything on the BIOS to default and try again.

You can try downgrade the BIOS using the BIOS USB flashback function. But if your problem occur after sometime you upgrade the newest BIOS then doubt it will be the BIOS version problem.

Thank you
