Hi guys, sorry for d noob question. Is there posibility for the CIMB Visa Signature cannot be used in overseas since CIMB is considered not well known bank like HSBC, Citibank n ect...
I applied for this card but afraid it cannot be used in US eventhough it has VISA logo there.
*
Don't worry about the card being issued by CIMB or by XXX bank. Merchants on the entire planet earth don't care if your card is Visa Infinite or Classic as long as the transaction can go thru. What you will experience in US is that the merchant will ask for your ID, so bring along some kind of ID with you, i.e. Passport. And they will ask you debit or credit, just answer credit.

by the way, do call your credit card Customer Service to inform them the period you be in US.

For CIMB call their Sunway card centre number - 03-56316979 and ask them.

how come 30k entitle for VISA infinite?
*
Unlike CIMB, HSBC kind of "stingy" with granting "high" credit limit. But I think it is like more than RM40K. Also having RM40K does not automatically grant you CIMB WMC or VI as CIMB will still check on your worthiness.

QUOTE(ben83 @ Apr 4 2011, 08:11 PM)
The rule probably changed now since HSBC already dropped their Plat income requirement. Maybe applicable to the new HSBC Signature instead
*
Well, commencing this month, all HSBC Platinum Visa cardholders will be "upgraded" to HSBC Visa Signature.

I have previously directed you to Service Notice Board, not that I need too since you are not new to LYN Forum. Anyway, once again here is it:

http://forum.lowyat.net/ServicesNoticeboard

We can't be having CC agents here posting their services just like in Finance Section where the insurance agents are not to post their services.

Please reread Rules and Regulations to refresh your memory.

QUOTE(wshoh @ Apr 15 2011, 05:27 PM)
Actually, I find that with CIMB's Pay With Points which includes merchants such as KFC, the loss of cash vouchers is no big deal. In fact, it is less of a hassle rather than having to wait for the vouchers to arrive. I think most of us can agree that even if we don't normally take fast food, we do buy KFC for our loved ones at some point in time...should not be to difficult for most of the seniors here (except tinkerbel if she has a CIMB CC) carrying CIMB/DA cards to deplete the points in this manner considering that it takes so long to accumulate points and at the same time, most of us would have switched to other cards as our primary one.

With MBBKard 2, I hardly use my DAMC. Primary use now is for BT and insurance premium (even for insurance, I think I'll be switching to Etiqa which accepts AMEX and time my purchases to do a 0% 6 months BT). hahaha tongue.gif

Anyway, CIMB has got a new reason for their 'Hamper-type' promo - this time, it is for Charles Berkeley's wallets (this brand I seriously haven't heard of @Gen-X, do some research and share with us tongue.gif) and Mendoza luggage (this brand I have heard of) (Be a Fashionista at Suria KLCC, with CIMB...they do seem to be ramping up their promotions recently. I managed to get the Christmas 2010 and CNY 2011 hampers :] The hamper value is actually not bad, you do get at minimum 5% equivalent cash back (too lazy to do a proper calculation though).
*
thanks for the tip on KFC notworthy.gif
as for the brands, better I don't want to know else get influenced tongue.gif

TS, if you still around, add WMC, VI, Platinum and Gold to sub-title of this thread and make this official CIMB CC Thread.

**Edited**
I gave you examples at CC Recommendation Thread post #222. But if you only using Petronas, I guess the card may benefit you. You get 5% on 1st of every month and other day 2% at Petronas. And you also get 5% rebates on Sundays at Guardian and for groceries, 10 % at KFC and Burger King smile.gif

Anyway guys, check out my new article at my blog on CIMB credit card promotion. Click below link. Free 1 for 1 latte at San Francisco Coffee and many other offers.

So this card is suitable for me right? and bro actually what does it mean for 5% rebate every month? means if i pump rm80 on 1st of every month,i will get rm4 cash back of rm80 right?
*
On the offers, go read the terms and conditions. Sunday 5% rebate applicable to MasterCard only.

And as for the 5% on 1st of the month, yah, that is right, you get RM4 for RM80 petrol according to CIMB webpage.

just wondering.... I have applied for the Touch and Go Visa CIMB Card and it's been a year now.

I find that the card doesn't really give much benefit except for the Zing card (auto reload)

is it possible to change the card to the petronas master card and still retain the Zing card?

please advise ^^

did the terms and conditions clearly state that the installment plan applicable to card holder only? If yes, then you at fault. If no, then give them the policy and you should still be entitled to the 0% installment plan.

So I'm getting a Visa Signature soon. Other than the complimentary GSC tickets and 2 entries to Airport Lounge (which is so little), it seems got the below as well..

CIMB Premier Club Rewards - Enjoy privileged savings when you use your CIMB Visa Signature at any of our participating merchants.

CIMB Bank Smart Rewards - Enjoy year-long discounts at over 500 dining, retail and lifestyle outlets bringing you privileges and benefits wherever you go.

I want to know where can I find the list of 'participating merchants/restaurants instead of having to call them. Thanks.
*
yah 500 outlets, I also want to know. Why don't you email them for the list and post it here smile.gif

Good to know. What would be the difference to pay within grace period vs interest-free period?
*
No difference. The grace period as mentioned by chemistry is a Bank Negara ruling that all credit cards issuers are to give cardholders 3 days grace period after the Due Date. I guess this is to allow cheques to clear if a person banks in on the Due Date or allow couple days for interbank GiRO transfer.

Forget about the grace period, just make sure you make payment on or by Due Date stated in the Statement.

you get discount or offers at 5 stars hotels. delifrance, Alexis (you must go try their cakes if you have not), Tai Thong Group, San Francisco Coffee.
15% Eraman - really good if you buy liquor
FOS.

Having said that, to benefit most from CIMB, we need combination of both Visa and MasterCard where with the MC we get rebates on Sundays at KFC, burger King, Guardian and for groceries.

QUOTE(ben83 @ May 29 2011, 02:32 AM)
According to some Dome outlets, VI or WMC holders can straight get a free coffee without any purchase. While some outlet said I need to at least order a drink or food to be entitled. There is also one occasion where the barista said I need to order a drink at least the same price level with the free coffee. So which one is right?
*
All the while I thought we had to order something to get the fee drink. Once I ordered a scone only and got the free coffee.
