Similar over here also... wants to check the payment is OK or not.
Why don't you save IBG cost by depositing into CIMB CDM in KL Sentral ?

i normally pay extra until the cc owes me,
they will send the statement.

somehow i like to see statement saying the cc owes me.

instead of paying until RM0 balance and wondering whether they receive the payment or not. or statement got lost etc etc
*
Unfortunately you don;t get interest back if you overpay... wouldn't recommend overpaying your CC.

If you got additional funds, put in Savings Account which earns monthly interest.

you must be mistaken.
nobody in their correct mind would pay few thousands extra to cc.

pay extra rm50 got what interest?
*
I prefer having 50sen in my own pocket than in the banks's pocket... Don't you agree ?

Why would one want to pay extra to their credit card? I don't see any reason why.
What my family members does is that we pay our credit cards on the last few days before the statement is due. Especially if the statement is due in the beginning of the month, we pay after the end of the month to get the interest in our saving account before paying the credit card bills off. But CIMB all due on the 31st I think. Whole point of having a credit card is to be able to make purchases on credit no? lol
*
Statement Date for CIMB/DA can be changed with a call to the CS....
Eg. Setting Statement Date to 15th of every month, the due date is usually 4th or 5th of the next month.

Direct Access will be discontinued by end of the year. Those having current account at Direct Access will be migrated to CIMB Preferred while credit card from DA will be changed to VI/WM upon expiry of the anniversary date of the credit card. They are doing in stages till end of the year. My C/A has migrated to CIMB Preferred already.
*
Did they send you a letter to inform of the "upgrade" ?

Not really. I have checked with them too whether I need to maintain RM200K (which I do not have) as the pre-requisite for opening of a CIMB Preferred a/c. They said just for this DA migration, no need to maintain, conditions are the same as previously enjoyed in DA.

I think they will review each DA a/c before assigning which a/c to be migrated to.

I also noticed that a lot of DA credit card holders do not know that they can actually open a Current A/C under DA which give better interest than the normal CIMB C/A
*
I guess, I will wait for the next migration batch. You actually open Direct Access Savings/Current account with your DA Credit Card (no cash required)

Ya they charged RM1k to the c/c and credit to the SA/CA a/c.

Maybe you should call them to check on the migration

Then need to change the DirectAccess cheque book again....

Yes because CIMB wants to discontinue DA so eventually all DA a/cs  and c/c will be converted to CIMB.
I think they have certain conditions that need to be met depending on your credibility with the CIMB.They might migrate yours to equivalent CIMB gold card or upgrade to VI/WM. Mine initially was DA gold card and was upgraded to DA Platinum few yrs ago.
*
From DA Platinum... what did you get next after the migration ?

The migration only applicable to DA current a/c. DA will still retain its credit card division.
