last time when i was in college, my mates and i would occasionally go hartz and have eating contest, whoever eat the most chickinz, the rest will pay for his meal.

that time can whack 8-10 pieces of chickinz, some more the 'big' pieces like thigh.

nowadays old already 3-4 pieces also KO liaoz. so might as well go kfc.

around 7 years ago, when i studying in sunway, i bump into hartz too. i think at that point of time it's rm15++ only rite?

for the 1st year when i know hartz, i love it, since it's quite cheap. after that i slowly hate it and i never went back to it again

my record? a mere 7 piece lol

Why you hate now? Price, location or taste? If you ate at Sunway 7 years ago .. the shop is located around 3 or 4th floor right? Very big compared than now ..

Just try again yo ... In 2009, the second time I went into Sunway Pyramid and bump into that restaurant .. I nearly don't enter because of the price ... but once I paid and taste the chicken ...

nowadays i never stay in KL liao, my hometown no hartz. So when i down in KL, my stomach is for other foods liao

Better don't go liao. I had an experience in Shogun Japanese Buffet also.
After balik rumah I food poison for 3 days.

I would rather dine in an authentic Japanese restaurant with the price rather than buffet.

i wonder how are they these days.

how to eat high # of pieces?

1. know that a thigh / breast / rib is different from wing / drum. it's easier to finish 10 pieces of wings than 10 rib.

2. to eat more chicken, drink less (those carbonated drinks) and eat less of the side dishes.

@Irzani ha ha ha that reminds me of my college days at hartz, whack whack whack then stomach ache ... and even worse is 1-2 days later when it's time to deposit in the toilet loooool

@kentang we all old farts cannot go hartz already lah. no matter how kiasu you feel also you won't be able to whack enough to make it worth it. Not like last time college years can mind over matter/stomach and eat 10 pieces through sheer force of will/kiasu power.

whacking the chicken pieces, I see no problem. I see a problem in whacking the pieces of fried, oily, chicken....... so yeah more health conscious nowaday. if want to eat balance then go Hartz not so value already, no?

My method is to not eat the chicken skin (of course la first and second chicken is okay) and only touch the meat. But if eat wings, not count la ... ~ . Must use standard chicken part to assure record broken and not overpaid price but underpaid ... hahahahhaha

You are still lucky bro can reach home before the sickness ... but to wait at the back of the restaurant around 1 hour where people pass by to wash their hand and see my faces bear the pain with my hands massage my stomach ... and cap kapak oil on the table ... perghhhh ...

oh..hertz still alive? i thought bankrupt oredi coz last time having class reunion at sunway around 2003..haha..so cool restaurant coz rm15 u can eat like heaven..

then they disappear from sunway pyramid like chipsmore. but i saw one last week at The Mall..next to pizza hut..izit their branch?

I used to frequent there when i was a kid like 10 years ago. that time it was still above the ice rink, overlooking sunway lagoon. man the amount of people lining up to eat was crazy on weekends. It was as if it was free lol i went back there like 2 years ago and find that the quality of the food has really deteriorate. Most of the chicken was dry inside. probably on the shelf for too long. other dishes are just so-so but its a buffet though. more quantity than quality

it is already finish. lol..... paiseh

i hate it, really not worth it. yes, i paid about rm30 and ate alot, about 6 pieces i think.
but then i would rather pay rm10 and eat snack plate.
the chicken is dry, not marinated long enough i guess. they overcooked it, aih, thats bad since the restaurant supposed to specialised in chicken dishes.
side dishes like macaroni, spaghetti..they were all horrible. i think i tried all.
iwent the sunway's one, btw.
the only thing i like is the ice cream and bottomless coke.

it is not worth it now... the food no longer taste like last time...
that used to be place for us to celebrate frens bday...
but now, there are so many choices outhere..
and with RM30, we can have a decent meal///

I already 2 month didn't go there ...

my record was 12-14pcs (various trips) of both spicy and ori fried chicken (rarely, 1-2pcs wld be the roasted chicken) plus assorted gizzards, apple crumble (at least 2bowls) and unlimited icecream (at least 2 bowls full).
hmm.. and 1-2 iced teas.

this was our annual hartz chicken buffet craze during CNY when i was about 8-13yo. that's was crazy fun. we cousins alw had such contests to see who can stuff our faces the most. lololol

after that, i plateaued for a while on 6-8pcs max KFC only... plus some mash and coleslaw. no drinks. i don't like sodas.

amazingly, i was still quite underweight as a child.
