Hi guys, just back from Digital Mall SS14 (looking for 120mm fans and stupid power adapter in the end couldn't find anything
Just to let you guys know that there are already display units of N45Sf and N55Sf (both black) in C-Zone (they sure are fast Din't have much time to play with them (cause the technician was busy molesting them) Basically these are my observations: - They're ugly (no offense simon) - The screen is quite thick, not good =.= and I dun like the silver thingy below the monitor... - Palm rest is made from cheap plastic (very cheap) - Speaker grill looks weird as the "holes" are not equal in size... the "holes" are larger on sides, smaller at the center... very weird - Keyboard: Buttons are basically the same as those in N53Sn and N43S... only that they're in silver.. Not sure whether the color will fade or not after prolonged usage. I'm happy to report that flexes are minimal on both models ^^ There are multiple multimedia keys cramped at the left hand side of the keyboard, which overally makes the keyboard looks a bit cramped (especially so in the N55sf), the buttons looked smaller compared to previous N53Sn (especially the keypad)... Typing feel is more or less similar like the predecessor, which is quite good and accurate~ - Port layout is not very good imho.... 3 USB ports at the right - The subwoofer looks cute, but din't get the chance to test them out... In my view, the N45/55sf is a step backwards for Asus N series... the N43/53 was so much better I is a sad nao.... This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Aug 14 2011, 05:29 PM |

QUOTE(Ikmal91 @ Aug 11 2011, 10:33 PM) This absolutely bombed me lulz. Hmmm.....the pictures look nice. I mean...from the Asus website, the gloss finish looks incredible to me. Especially with the piano black finish. Laptops always look nice in photos (unfortunately), especially glossy ones! I remembered how pretty my old Super Glossy Qosmio F60 was in pictures and when they're untouched haha |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 11 2011, 11:59 PM) Prices decrease all the time... after you've made your purchase, make sure you don't come back and check the price, you'd be butthurt Ahhh....that's the problem lol. So how does one know when is the best time to buy a laptop and which to buy? They don't or possible (by having friends that are dealers themselves)? |

They don't or possible (by having friends that are dealers themselves)? Well, there's no "best time" if you ask me... Buy when you need, wait if you can Hmm, you can always find nice sellers who are willing to sell at cheap prices, as long as the price is good, then okay already~ |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 12 2011, 12:07 AM) Well, there's no "best time" if you ask me... Buy when you need, wait if you can Fair enough. But then again...the spec of each laptop changes or improves nearly every month don't they? So even if you buy a laptop today, it might be obsolete tomorrow. Correct? How much do the prices decrease usually?Hmm, you can always find nice sellers who are willing to sell at cheap prices, as long as the price is good, then okay already~ |

Yup, new technology will always be coming Its virtually impossible to "chase" technology... unless if you're very, very rich la haha Well, there's no specific trend as to how much the prices will fluctuate... |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 12 2011, 12:15 AM) Yup, new technology will always be coming I was almost thinking that I could wait out for the N45SF to decrease in price. Maybe to around RM2.5k but then....you never know. So yeah. Its virtually impossible to "chase" technology... unless if you're very, very rich la haha Well, there's no specific trend as to how much the prices will fluctuate... Last time I bought a new laptop, the very next day, the specs change. The processor too! So I have been a bit cautious here. Ahaha. How long do laptops usually last? Depends on how the owner takes care of them right? But I see people here buy then sell almost every other month or so. |
