hhmm...
1. I am not after fast boot up as that is not my top priority as i like to press the power button only go turn on my lights / fan / aircond / go toilet / pour water & etc etc. So, when im back it sure load up already.
2. I never use hibernate. Its either turn off completely or leave it on the whole night
3. I tried juz now. Yes, it does go hengki pengki after a while including task bar and every window i opened.
4. yes...because the system seems really super bz for don't know what reason.
5. i don't use internet explorer, coz i find it slow and not reliable...
since you didnt read the previous post. FYI only, most of the N53 owner here will spend sometimes removing the bloatware installed by asus.

No, only the left pam rest get warm during gaming, but the temperature in idle mode is around 50 Celsius while in gaming is around 70 Celcius, example like Crisis 2.

err guys..how can you guys so sure that the seagate hdd is bad?
really should not be like that..even let say wd is 'better' then seagate, i dont think normal user would really notice them..hmm

seagate is one of the major hdd maker..dont you think their product is good? tech wise, they are better then wd..

hibernating/sleep issues is more related to s/ware, IMHO..
any of you guys actually approach asus?

Added on May 3, 2011, 5:23 pmi noticed in previous pages, someone posted their WEI result with hdd score less then 5.9. is this coming from seagat hdd?

probably yes, cuz seagate users have the hibernation problems and afaik, all seagate users face the same hibernation problem whilst those with wd does not.

Windows 7 Hibernate Problem

There are at least two different types of hibernation problems. One problem is that your computer is not waking up properly. Alternatively your problem is there is no Hibernate option on the Windows 7 Shut Down menu. In both cases check the 'Allow hybrid sleep'setting.

1) For any hibernation problems the easiest solution is to set 'Allow hybrid sleep' to: 'Off'. (See screenshot).

By design, hybrid incorporates both Sleep and Hibernate, thus you only see Sleep on the Shutdown menu. Also, by default, desktops are set to 'Allow hybrid sleep yawn.gifn'.

Trap: Before you can change any of the Balanced settings, first you must click on Change settings that are currently unavailable. (See screenshot)

2) Another problem with hibernation is caused because Windows 7 does not have enough free disk space for hiberfil.sys. My machine needed 4 GB, the size of my RAM.

3) An over-active Disk Cleanup program may cause the Hibernate option to disappear. If Hibernate does not appear on the Shutdown menu, then open a command prompt and check with:
Powercfg -q

If this was your problem, for future reference you could remove the tick next to 'Hibernation File Cleaner' in the Disk Cleanup settings.

Next turn on Hibernate with:
Powercfg -h on

3a) Check for errors with:
Powercfg -energy

Incidentally, Powercfg -energy gave me errors and warnings - even when the computer awoke from sleep gracefully. However, the point is that the information in the html report may point you to which devices need further investigation and driver updates.

i guess its personal liking. I never say seagate hdd is bad, neither have I pay attention to wd hdd.

However, if i was given a choice between these 2, i will still choose wd. I can't explain to you the reason, just personal liking or you can call it prejudice..... unsure.gif

I can assure you Seagate is bad/sucks

1) I bought my Seagate Free Agent Go.....6 months later cannot copy/cut and sometimes read files. In other words it crash doh.gif . I never even drop it b4. I took care of it like a baby. When i check on9 bout this model i found out.......lots and lots of ppl are having the same prob. The worst is 3 months after buying then crash d. Then send for warranty and Seagate ppl ask whether wan save the files......if yes the will charge u the price almost as same as the Ext HDD itself. Really WTF man. They are stealing our money

2) My N53SN is equip with Seagate Momentus. My WEI is 5.6 while WD users are 5.9 doh.gif . Also i suffer more probs than WD users Ex hibernation prob.

3) Another Asus owner(forgot name) with Seagate Momentus.....crash after 3 weeks.

4) I read a review about the Seagate Momentus XT......theres a big issue with it. Im not so clear what it is but it's kinda serious.

Conclusion Seagate Sucks thumbup.gif

PS: My desktop got 2 WD Green( 1 use 3 years & another 2 months and still no prob) and my bro and dad both have a WD Elements. 3.5" and 2.5" and still working perfectly after a year
