Hello all, I have a question.
Is there any differences between the casing material of the Asus N53SV and N53SN?

I heard one of the seller saying that the case material of Asus N53SV is made of fully plastic, while Asus N53SN is fully aluminium. Is that true?

guys, very soon I'll be joining you all as the owner of an Asus N series laptop. just wanna double confirm with you all, what is the maximum memory capacity can be upgraded in N53SV? Is it 8GB or 16GB? I read few specs online including the one from Asus web page itself but confused with it.

For sure I know N53SN can upgrade till 16GB. Hope this is not out of topic post... smile.gif

That seller is a bloody bollocks. The meterials ARE the same cause they ARE BOTH N53 models. Don't buy from him. He clearly is trying to cheat you or he's a moron.
Safer is to buy from authorized dealers thumbup.gif

you see the back there with those vent holes and theres two rubber feet. Remove them and you can see the screws. Unscrew them then you can access the HDD and RAM. But im not sure how to put the rubber feet back cause i never remove them yet tongue.gif

Lol tell you why i ask such question ... i bought 4gb ram to be install with this new asus laptop
i brought to the local shop here and ask the technician to help me with installing this ram
some how he wouldnt dare unplug the rubber feet... scare cant plug back laugh.gif

Instead he try install the ram by opening the keyboard etc.. i didnt withness anything as they do this at the back office.
They told me that they cant install it and might need some research beforehand and will contact me when they knew how ....

I ask them is there any Technical dissemble manual ?... they said we only got the user manual rclxub.gif

You can check this youtube (6:40 for ram slot access): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c84UKNzMQII

Is N53JQ, previous generation of N53 series, but the built & component compartment is the same as N53SN.

Elpida is more of an OEM brand for RAM used by a lot of companies. I was rather surprised that the A42 series used Kingston instead of Hynix or Elpida.
