it flashes both intel IGP n nvidia gpu. there was no notes regarding the throttling tho...which an issue when we game.

got mine at viewnet,lowyat. RM2530 w extended warranty. but nowadays, its quite asy to get only the laptop, for RM2449. if u ask for cash rebate instead of useless free junk,possibly u cud get it down to 2400 or ~2350 even...

EDIT : installing 270.61 driver by replacing INF file provided by laptopvideo2go. i know dat sum1 in da forums, already tried it, but im bored. cudnt try latest 275 beta driver. dont want to use maxis bb. waste of bandwidth downloading.

UPDATE2 : yup.no optimus juz like at the other guy got. reverting back tu previous stock driver, will to try install only 270.61's display driver via CUSTOM settings.

UPDATE3 : optimus is back after reinstalling 267.attemtping to isntal juz the 270's display driver...

UPDATE4 : after configuring 270's custom options, it appears that, the installer removes all unchecked/unticked ( i tot by unticking, it wudnt update,juz let it be at older version) components including nvidia optimus...hurm...so,ive decided to,later tonite,download thelate 275 + modified INF at laptopvideo2go, n test it for a couple of weeks.

anyhow, da design's ugly.LOL

i sure hope the 3299 price tag, is for the highest variant. the core i7 one. cannot find da price for core i5 tho...

da reference spec is i5 2410m + nvidia gt540m. howevern 4830tg is priced at a mere 2499 ringgit only. to me, da answer is obvious. if uve got da money, definitely go xps 15 i7 model

acer 4830tg,to me, offers much much much value for money as compare tu the 3299-3699 xps 15

y cheap? u can get an even cheaper i5-2410m+nvida gt540m based notebook from asus. the model number is Asus A43SV. RM100 cheaper. u have to compare these models thoroughly if u want a definite answer.

its a damn pain in the arse updating nvidia drivers. if i knew updating drivers for nvidia gpu wud b this tricky, i wud have waited for an AMD/ATI + intel i5-2410m combo instead. updating my mother's laptop sporting an AMD/ATI 5470 is sooo easy.owh well..lesson learnt. next lappy replacemeent wud b in 2014

dat u have to refer to nvidia drivers' release notes.its mostly game-specific improvements. on top of dat, there's a new nvdia control panel that introduces new features. had to uninstall the new drivers due tu optimus not working. too lazy to learn how to modify .INF files ... u cud dig thru laptop2video forums if ur interested to learn.

by latest u mean 270.61 rite?downloaded it diretly from nvdia.com rite?yup...u cannot the drivers provided by nvidia.com. u have to wait for acer to take that driver n modify it to our laptop's specs or wuteva. u cud force install it by modifing its .INF file. for details , head to laptopvideo2go.com.

however, once u modified the .INF file,force install it, ur going to have a problem w optimus. it doesnot switch graphics or something. ur optimus doesnt work.
maybe u cud try, n see the result.report it back to this thread. um..n make sure, in power sver mode,ac adapter plugged off, dat it's using Intel graphics rather than the nvidia gpu.

mine is 4.38% wear level. after 15 discharge cycle.

i find it hard to believe that even after a couple of discharge ccles (let alone 33), the battery wear level is still at 0%. no offense,but from an engineering/technical/logical/chemical perspective, 0% wear level applies to NEW BATTERY. IMO, even after calibration,though it may seem that it says 0%, i believe dat in its actuality, the wear level is higher than 0%. but if some of u, are knowledgeable in batteries, do correct me.im in electrical eng,not chemical or battery manufacturing industry.

well my advice is...use the batter very frequently until it can only charges for 3-4 hours in power saver mode in the 1st year, n quickly send it to service centre.they will replace da battery. icalled acer before this, they say, if only 3 hours pn,can already get it replaced.

pn = pun (BM) hehe. 3jam pun, acer service center will replace the battery.

definitely power saving mode when everything is at minimum.no wifi/bluetooth, lowest brightness...everything is set to low.dat is how they get u.hehe. defintiely not under full performance mode.

um...unable to say anything. but to my understanding, battery storange, usually at 40%.i bought a demo unit,the seller said on power adapter since day 1. after atleast 15 charge cycles, its a.t 4.3%..maybe u cud try to go back to the shop complain.if within a week, definitely can change 1 to 1. exchange w a newer one.

im saying, if mine, a demo unit, reaches 4.3% after 15 charge cylecs,compared to urs, which is not a demo unit,totally in an unopened box, reached 4.3% dat quickly,something must b not rite.

not sure.by i think they alredy addressed the throttling issue wen gaming.under intense temp, cpu runs at a max of 1.2Ghz only...
