I've already done that. The cores go up to 84 degrees max when running Halflife 2 on GPU recommended setting.

That was because I was running on 2x AA and almost max setting.

How do I do that?

Bioshock 1. Running off steam. Already set to Vista Compatibility, and NVIDIA GPU setting. But not sure if running on GT540M or not.

Help?

HW monitor doesn't capture it. :/

But NVDIA software shows that the GPU is running. Just no temp...

Added on April 15, 2011, 12:42 pmOh nevermind. Saw it. max at 50 degres. But the core temps went up to 64.

Added on April 15, 2011, 12:53 pmHowever, the bioshock hasn't rendered anything yet. It's still in the loading screen.

Added on April 15, 2011, 1:56 pmGot it running. Will post results after 30 minutes of play

Added on April 15, 2011, 2:16 pmBioshock: GPU runs at 69 degrees max running widescreen with high setting. Nice biggrin.gif Cores went up to 82 degrees tho.

Added on April 15, 2011, 2:19 pmBioshock didn't start because there's a second patch :/ Gah. Stupid stupid stupid steam.

Better check if the 3 booths have 4830TG first before you trade it in. Also make sure all sensitive info on your old laptop is removed. Don't want anybody to know that you have that 300GB of porn. Hahaha

I think if you're just using it for non gpu intensive applications, it should be ok.

On the other hand, my previous asus laptop's charger died before my battery died about a year later.

I made a mini video review - bootup time, core temp and general stuff. haven't touch on the quality of the laptop itself, but will probably add that on the second video. Uploading it now as I write this post.

The keyboard side doesn't heat up. The bottom does, but still manageable levels.

Maxreno: Actually that's what they would recommend. When the battery is full, the AC charger will go directly to power the laptop and bypass the battery.

My office gave me a T410 to use for official stuff. I love the matte screen. And the screen resolution is 16:10, and not 16:9. I think only Business level laptops (lenovo thinkpads, dell latitude) have matte screen option.

I wish laptops manufacturers give the option for non-glossy screens.

Most of IBM laptop still using matte screen

I think that's Lenovo. IBM sold their consumer computer line quite a while back smile.gif
