if reload TNG under 7 eleven, got charges bo?

QUOTE(namh @ May 28 2014, 08:30 PM)
i dont think credit card can be use to reload touch n go at 7-11
*
yup, most likely purely cash-only reload without any service charge of 50sen per reload.

I guess it's the same strategy as Watson's by enabling TnG reload whilst promoting cashless purchase.

If 7E able to deploy this fast, the convenience already benefits the mass market.

The MoU didnt mention about SmartTag or TnG card purchase. It'd be great though if they carry TnG's SKUs. thumbup.gif

saw some people asked TnG in FB about reload @ 7E:

1) RM0.50 service charge
2) Cash-only
3) Reload from RM10 (min) to RM500.

that's nothing great at all since most petrol station also can top up without rm0.50 service charge...
*
yep nothing special, even no special rebate/discount inconjunction with the MoU signing.

oh well, at least all 7E outlets can now reload TnG (previously only few selected outlets). Imagine all thse 7E outlets near residental/apartments/flats areas. convenience is a plus point.

1Malaysia Frequent User Toll Rebate programme to be terminated, from next Tuesday

http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014...bate-programme/

KUALA LUMPUR: The 1Malaysia Frequent User Toll Rebate programme will be terminated from next Tuesday, according to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM).

According to an LLM statement here on Friday, claims for rebate could be made by eligible users for six months until Jan 14 next year based on the existing conditions.

"Claims for rebate can be made at all Touch' n Go (TnG) counters on the highways, TnG hub and TnG Spot counters at selected petrol stations," the statement said.

The rebate programme was an initiative introduced on Sept 1, 2009 to enable consumers to get a 20% rebate on toll when there was a minimum of usage of 80 times per month.

However, the termination of the rebate programme does not involve Frequent Travellers Programmes of the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong and Plusmiles-managed PLUS Expressway Berhad, according to LLM.

"Plusmiles operated by Expressway Berhad involves the North-South Expressway (except for Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plazas), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Butterworth-Kulim Highway, Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH) and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (except the Anjung Kupang toll plaza) are not involved," the statement added. - Bernama

from my understanding, the 20% still have but it means now only Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong, North-South Expressway (except for Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plazas), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Butterworth-Kulim Highway, Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (except the Anjung Kupang toll plaza) can be counted into the 80 times, right?

The 20% Rebate Toll (aka GFTP or Government Frequent Travellers Program) will be terminated. This is gomen's initiative. Now they taking it back.

Other programs by LDP (managed by Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd) and PLUSMILES (managed by PLUS Expressway Berhad) are not involved in this program termination announcement.

so it means now only have these:
1) LDP http://www.litrak.com.my/faq.php
2) PLUSMILES http://www.plusmiles.com.my/askplusmiles.aspx
*
yep! those are highway concessionaires' own program, obviously gomen wont bother to touch since the rewards are not coming from their pockets.

the entry barrier is too high; need at least 100 transactions to qualify for rebate. yawn.gif

I just found out PLUSMILES is entitled together with the 20% rebate  vmad.gif  doh.gif  previously when i asked, they say either one only. dammnit. now too late. looks like have to apply for PLUSMILES now... there goes my rm80 rebate each month  cry.gif
*
yeah, all TnG entitled the 20% rebate; on top of each respective rebates (5% for Plusmiles, 20% of LDP).

combined this with credit card cashbacks for reload, it does comes up to substantial savings too.

side note: each respective toll rebates qualifier is quite steep. RM100 for Plusmiles, 100 transactions for LDP. I wonder how many travellers really qualifies. blink.gif

sure claimable hehe.

guess so gua biggrin.gif RM400 is freakin' high for a casual traveller. perhaps crossing states on daily basis? e.g. KL <> Johor/Penang hmm.gif

yorkhan each month's 20% rebates has validity of 6-months. Assuming you consistently spending RM400 on tolls each month, you get RM80 rebates per month. You still can redeem all past 6 months x RM80 per month = RM480 of rebates. Worse come to worse, if the earliest month already forfeited, still have 5 months x RM80 = RM400 rebates to be redeemed! sweat.gif
