SGSII thrashes the Evo 3D in performance.

I have been wanting to ask the question :

if you look at the benchmark (Quadrant).. The Evo 3D finishes the benchmark so much faster then the GS2..
Why then it had such a low benchmark number? My current DHD (1920) is higher then the Evo3D (1836)..

Guys, benchmark is useless. It doesn't represent the actual usage experience of the phone. So care not about that. I'm sure evo is a good phone, so as sgs2. Just buy the phone you like. That's all.

yet, your device fails to compete with the smoothness in games, or web browsing power.

sometimes, the software counts.

dont just look at the benchmarks. take into consideration other factors,.

HTC Sensation comes out ORI first too.
They're standardizing the releasing date for the whole world.

Well, if you have been rooting 2nd generation Android phone, you will find that enabling Data2EXT, like what Samsung has been doing since S1, achieve higher I/O score quite a lot. Even HTC Legend with Data2EXT score is 1.4k or so.

It really boils down to what you want. Samsung S2 is indeed the fastest and most responsive of them all. Tried Sensation and the usual Sense really slows down things a little bit. Once you get rid of Sense, I would say pretty similar score, since they share the same internal A9, just different manufacturers.

Build quality wise, Samsung S2 is really plastique but Im sold on the performance of the device.

I understand benchmark are just for bragging right (my phone is faster than yours etc etc...)..

What I dun understand is the benchmark software/result... usually when you run a benchmark.. you finished 1st => you are fastest?

In the benchmark between the 2.. Evo finishes way ahead of GS2.. but then it has a very low score? just wondering what happen there...

^Time of benchmark completion doesn't signify anything.

the lower scores might be due to the resolution difference.
similar to benchmark on PCs, your graphic performance is better if the screen resolution is lower.
that might be why the s2 (480x800) > evo 3d (540x960)

Finish faster does not mean its faster. It might be less thing to benchmark compared to the other. In raw computing power, take less time = faster but you can also be fast if you have one or more less thing to test. To see the real result, one need to look into the result. It has different scores for CPU, GPU, Memory, I/O etc. Samsung S2 has Data2EXT enabled, thus having one more thing to test, which lead to inflated scores.

Both are 1GHz processor and if you compare the CPU score only, not much different. Memory score does have some difference but if you look at the green bar, there is where Samsung and Motorola leading most of the time. Thats where the ROM I/O comes into play. I think having a portion of the ROM/SDCard partition, formatted with standard EXT file format of Linux speed things up a lot.

sudah sampai wooo.. trying to familiarise myself with android( first android device) and htc sense. so far interface is easy, and it syncs messages, contacts with my old nokia easily. 3D mode is ok i guess but then pening2 lalat kicks in 5 minutes after viewing, little dizzy as if reading a book in a moving bus.
