probably next time there's a firmware upgrade for it... cause i read somewhere that its programmable and it only explains why the port is USB... they could easily use other different ports but still choose USB.. Anyways I do hope it'll have PC USB function one day too

yeah that could be one of the reason too... but nonetheless, CLAS's battery can only last about 9 hours (so i read).. as long as the ipod can last for 9 hours plus, it should be okay..

yup cypher labs.... what happens if we plug CLAS into existing imods? will it short circuit?

OMG!

no have to buy separately.. but i seriously doubt there's any SQ improvement... cause its transferring digital signals from idevice to CLAS.. I think i'll rather just shorten the USB cable for portability

lols!! it sounds fantastic man... it makes low bitrate/low quality recordings sound good, and good quality recordings great! overall huge jump!

however it kinda sucks the battery life out of my ipod.. lols i'll have to reconfirm this again though, but it seems like so..

i believe this has been cleared up already... because the ipod transfers data asynchronously, the authentication chip eats up the battery life.. its something like using the cpu to process data, therefore less battery life...

I was searching earlier for battery Casing for iphones/itouch..... they don't have connection ports below the casing, however they do have USB A-B for transfer, not sure if they'll work with CLAS though.. If they do that'll be great, extra batt life for iphoners

iMod only works with 5.5gen ipods and lower.. if ipod touch, only 1st gen ipod touch... i would say cypher labs is a big step above imod... however imod is about the best thing i've heard till this lol

nice USB LOD.. i sent my ipod cable to jaben for modding too.. actually i'm looking for something really slim and low profile.. not sure how it'll look like..

to me digital transfer theoretically will not make much different with different cable grades.. but then again, i should listen and judge.. for now, i just need something really low profile cause my rig has cables coming out both ends! i'm trying to reroute the cables to be only at one side.. see how la..

anyways CLAS is said to have about the same performance as centrance dacport or even better.. still not as nice as larvy but close enough.. but then again, i can't judge cause i don't have either one...

one thing i really like about CLAS is that it makes low bit rate songs sound good.. i heard its about the ability of reclocking or smth that helps with this... i can actually enjoy streaming 129kbps internet radio with CLAS.. sounds good indeed

only problem now is battery life of my ipod drains faster.. you guys know about those external battery cases for iphone? eg mophie juice pack? i wonder if it is able to connect with the CLAS.. should be able to according to logic lol..

I didn't read it anywhere online stating that CLAS is better or on par with dacport.. A respectable friend of mine told me so.. However I will not review his name here cause he's famous here and again it's very subjective and unverified whether CLAS is better than Dacport .. I trust him alone so I'll trust him, but we stand corrected as well:)

Even HD YouTube bids sounds great with CLAS...
