QUOTE(mizzycoffeelong @ Apr 12 2011, 10:11 AM) heard citi is going to re-launch their shell card..hope will have more privileges hehe..but nothing is mentioned on their site yet... whatever changes made, its still a rubbish card. pb esso card, amex is much much better in terms of cash back unless they can offer more than 5% rebate with NO condition, not like last time where u have to pay for the interest in order to enjoy 5% rebate http://www.citibank.com.my/english/credit-...credit-card.htm |

QUOTE(muchimuchi @ Apr 25 2011, 02:41 PM) ya just saw it today...everyday for 8% great deal..for anyone who don't know how to calculate can go here also..they have this format to calculate for you hahaha... DONT APPLY for this crap shell card. here why also they are giving out free GPS AGAIN!!!!...but for evry 20th approval so don't really understand how they give it out la... http://www.citibank.com.my/english/credit-...credit-card.htm quoted from bro ronnie Basically you have to spend retail to get your higher rebate on your fuel purchases. RM250 x 4% = RM10 rebate per month RM500 x 6% = RM30 rebate per month RM800 x 8% = RM64 rebate per month Basically, you should get the card based on the petrol pumped per pump at Shell.... Only at RM800 per month would you get RM64, more than other cash-back CC (RM50 for OCBC Titanium/Maybankard2 AMEX) To qualify for Tier 1, you need to spend RM50 per month + RM250 Shell fuel to get RM10 back... which is nett 3.33% Cash Back To qualify for Tier 2, you need to spend RM500 per month + RM500 Shell fuel to get RM30 back... which is nett 3.00% Cash Back To qualify for Tier 3, you need to spend RM1700 per month + RM800 Shell fuel to get RM64 back... which is nett 2.56% Cash Back OCBC Titanium Mastercard/Maybankard2 AMEX beats the crap of these offers with it's solid 5% Cash Back conclusion citibank shell card still sucks. The rebate keep decreasing if u spend more because there are no rebates for other spending except for Shell fuel. The actual rebate is certainly less than 4% and they use a lots of tricks in hiding it. Even add in bonuslink points which offer 0.5% cashback, AMEX, ocbc and pbb esso still totally pawn this. QUOTE(aeronic @ Feb 25 2012, 02:30 PM) hi sifus, Get cash back platinum card. Shell card only give you maximum 4% cash back onlyi would like to check with you guys which card from citibank gives you the best rebates for shell purchases if you do not have any outstanding balances? i.e. the kind of person who uses credit card just for perks and pays no interests for outstanding balances. 1) citibank cash back platinum (the blue/green card) which claims to give 5% or 2) citibank shell gold which claims to give a maximum of 8% but i am not sure how it is calculated my petrol expenses are about rm300-rm400 per month, FYI i have both cards with me at the moment and planning to cancel one because the yearly GST cycle for one the cards is coming soon. |

QUOTE(aeronic @ Mar 3 2012, 11:12 AM) Sorry for not being specific, I thought I was in the Citibank thread. yes, citibank cashback platinum has more return as it gives you 5% rebate, much much better than shell card.I meant Citibank cashback visa platinum aka the fake platinum If use it at shell it has more returns than the dedicated Citibank shell gold cashback? That was my question. |

QUOTE(ZiNKaK @ May 8 2012, 04:27 PM) OK..I might be stubborn coz I somehow don't feel the cash back is so low to the extend of RM5 as you mention.. LOL... let's dissect the T&C so far, only ambank can give the most cash back on petrol which is 20%. But this promotion ended on march alreadyWeekly petrol feeding RM 100 Total monthly retail spending is RM100 x 4 = RM400.. Cashback mechanism capping it as RM400 x 20% = RM 80 Hence regardless you pump RM200 or RM100 over the weekend, it will still be calculated as RM 80 So... here we go... 1st week: RM80 x 10% = RM8 2nd week: RM80 x 5% = RM4 3rd week: RM80 x 5% = RM4 4th week: RM80 x 5% = RM4 Total: RM20 Hmm... I somehow come back to the same thing as my prev calculation and I'm pretty firm it's this figure... Damn me... Please use any other card (Amex/UOB/OCBC/Citi) except this card... it's so confusing! |
