1 bijik RM30-50, got 4 mounting. Workmanship shouldn't be expensive coz Wira mounting position is quite easy to take out. If you see your mounting rubber all cracked out or torn then you need to change it.

cute_boboi, Normally mechanic will ask to change the belt if it covered in oil. Not sure sikalan or not, but better change lar coz if the belt snap or come off from the cams your engine will suffer serious damage.
*
Ok, at least my mechanic is still trustable now smile.gif

I only found out the mounting is spoil, when taking out the timing belt cover. Need to unscrew the engine mount, and the whole rubber ball inside, fall off into 2 big pieces from the metal.

Mine is Hero 1.5M GLi tongue.gif

Still haven't fix my temperature gauge fluctuating yet (posted in earlier pages here), and mechanic says my rear-drum-brake have issue that need to check in next service doh.gif Coz I ask to tighten the hand-brake.

My absorber & spring, never change before, yet. sweat.gif 140k km. 9.5 years.

Ask mechanic press, he says still can use, bounce back and not spoilt.

For those whose repair bills >6k for half-year... that's RM1k per month, why not get a new car ? 1k/mth can pay good installment. Somemore got warranty. hmm.gif

Thats just for few months..after done everything, u can drive more than 3-5 years..but if get new car, EVERY MONTH you need to pay that amount for 5/7/9 YEARS  wink.gif
*
If few months, then ok. If repeat like that every year, then sweat.gif

If pay on average nearly 1k to fix the car every month, for 5/7/9 years, compare to pay new car 1k /mth for 5/7/9 years, plus driving a new car, etc. which is better ? hmm.gif

I have a friend who sells off his 5 year old Wira aeroback and buy a new similiar Wira aeroback many years ago.

how can i check whether my wira windscreen in covered in my ins??

where to replace my windscreen in KL? cheap n good
*
In your insurance cover note / policy, there is an extra line: Windscreen coverage

The premium is RM15 for each RM100 coverage. If you cover for RM600, you need to pay extra RM90 on top of your car insurance premium.

Price are quite standard, for tempered-glass + labour is around RM600.
Single-layer + labour is around 300-400.
Anything lower is consider cheap.

eh Ron97 or 95?
if you rm10 go 40km, means rm50 go 200km... that's kinda bad lei sad.gif
IIRC if i pump rm50 ron97 i get around 250km, if ron97 (rm50 also) i can hit 280km....again all 100% city driving lo.
will exhaust leak (small bocor) cause FC increase? or power loss? my low-end torque seems to be poorer than i remembered sad.gif if i send to exhaust shop, i just afraid they simply say here n there need replace  sweat.gif  thats why must ask u all for tips and advise first.
*
I always wonder how rm50 ron 95 @1.90 = 26.3L = 250km
= 9.6 km/L

and rm50 ron 97 @2.50 (let's say take a lower one) = 20L = 280km
= 14 km/L rclxub.gif

That is a big variance. Can you maintain that stats for 3-5 full continuous tankfuls ? hmm.gif

Is there something in ron 97 / V-power or is the full tank-ful method to calculate is not that accurate ?

I use my km/L for full-tank full, there is not much difference, only +/- 20km

Exhaust pipe leak = FC will increase. Loss power also. Also your exhaust will sound like ah beng modified exhaust, very loud laugh.gif at traffic light, you step 9 9, engine rev high, exhaust sound nice, but the kancil/lorry next to you pickup faster than you laugh.gif

My wira manual 1.5 year 05 (just bought not long ago).

Is it the car seems correct when it is on 5th gear :

110km/h = RPM 3.5  hmm.gif
130km/h = RPM 4  shocking.gif

Sunny 130Y year 1995 RPM only at 2.8 when 110km/h
Honda City year 2010 RPM only at 2.5 when 110km/h

By the way, I spotted my wira speed reading is wrong (I compare to my GPS speed reading). So how do I fix it?
*
About there. Mine 1.5M GLi
90km/h ~2.8k RPM
110 ~3.2-3.3k RPM
130 ~3.8-4.0k RPM

Always like that since ori new car. No mod. All stock.

My GPS is about 8-10km/h slower.

QUOTE(-Aktan- @ Jun 18 2011, 01:42 PM)
thanks bro will go back to check also and try ur way sad lah... now my car so smelly because the back seat there also water everywhere  doh.gif
*
Wipe all the water. Then go buy Thirsty Hippo (RM17+ for pack-of-3) and put 2-3x bottle there (tie it up or put in box), make sure don't topple when you drive or korner-baring tongue.gif
Also, buy those traditional charcoal from sundry shop (not those cylinder-processed charcoal). Open the whole bag, put in a box and it'll help absorb the smell also.
Also, if you don't mind the smell, go songlap some pandan leaves (10 pieces) from neighbour or roadside. Tie it and put next to the charcoal.
Leave everything there for ~1 month.

QUOTE(mphpopular @ Jun 18 2011, 04:37 PM)
Thx for the speedometer reply  notworthy.gif Just got quotation from Proton, RM 230 inclusive labor cost.
I think I need to fix the speedometer first, then only I see the correct KM/H match with what RPM.

How about aircond? (just added gas) Currently morning and night, the aircond is OKOK, the wind is cold, but not strong.

Afternoon, the car very hot, wind feel like blowing hot air instead of cold air and my car like sauna.

I figure out some of the possible issue that cause my car very hot :
1) Black color car with black color seat = absorb heat (cant fix)
2) No tinted currently - plan to tint it probably next month
3) For aircond part, refer below (havent do anything yet, due to no budget this month)

Showed to air cond mechanic: no problem at compressor, recommend to fix this issue once and for all by
a) The aircond pipe into the car doesn't cold at all. (I touch, and do compare to my nissan sunny 1995 130Y, my wira really feels like warm one)
b) Change condenser to bigger piece - RM 200-RM 300 depends quality
c) Need to release gas and test on compressor gao gao. But from outlook, seems like compressor still good
- RM 60 for gas refill
d) Change valve filter - RM 100+=

Anything else possible that make aircond dont blow cold wind during HOT afternoon day?
Coz, during morning & night, it is working fine with cold air blowing
*
My mechanic quoted me RM150-180+ verbally, not sure inclusive labour or not. Since he says mine temperature gauge at VDO is faulty.

Air-cond, try cheapest solution first, refill gas.
Maybe it is an indication got leak somewhere, normally at the honey-comb (behind glove compartment).
Do you see like white-smoke blowing out from your air-cond ?

there is light for that lamp but we cant see anything from that side..easy to say that lamp is ok but tiada pancaran cahaya .
*
Try park facing the wall within <1 feet. Switch on small-light (whatever it is called). You should see two dim lights on the wall.
Now, switch on the big-light (not high beam). You should see difference on the two dim lights, become two bright lights on the wall.
Flip the high-beam switch. You should see two bright lights a bit higher now.

My case is, I burn the right side dim-lights. i.e. only left got light if on small-light.
But when I on big-light, both head-lights same brightness.
So, save money, still can drive and won't get JPJ/Police blocked, since both big-lights (low beam) are still functioning.

vmad.gif  wtf is going on?
*
I guess the ECU something wrong (faulty). Which model/year is yours ?

Mine is different yr 2002 1.5GLi manual. On my car, engine light will always on forever. Then crank and engine light went off.
If engine light comes on again, means engine die already, sometimes due to too low rpm.

My temp meter shows one bar above the middle bar. It happened on daytime. On nighttime it shows exactly on the middle bar. Is it normal?

Or any problem with the radiator?

My temp meter blink.gif

With that temperature, I still can drive (no stop) for the next 1 hour, stop-start traffic in KL, about 25km sweat.gif
doh.gif Happen 1-2 times a week.

My mechanic says if temp like that, steam will come out already within <3 km or <5 minutes drive.

won't it be dangerous if continue like that?? sweat.gif
overheating can cause damages to the block, end up have to change the block..
*
Well, my mechanic says is VDO spoil, need to change. He checked already.

I ask here also in earlier postings, some say the temp VDO not easy to spoil.

I've change the temperature sensor already.

Both fans are working, confirmed. Air cond also very cold.

The upper and lower radiator pipe is hot, means hot water is circling, water pump working. Kena my arm when feeling the lower pipe doh.gif

Radiator no rust, serviced and no leak. Working fine.

rclxub.gif

The thing is, if I continue drive, the temp needle sometimes will fall very fast from top to middle in about 1 second only, then stay there in middle.

If really overheat, can drop that fast meh ? hmm.gif

really.... cannot claim? demn... really bad luck.. sad.gif
*
Very hard to claim, unless the shop owner (witness) is willing to be your witness, report police, interview with claims adjuster, etc. Later if found out the other car is fake license plate, or no insurance (lapsed), etc. quite common. All time and effort wasted.

If claim from your own insurance, NCD gone. Somemore, insurance may have excess charge, i.e. initial RM400 of claims will not be paid. e.g. if claim RM1000 insurance only pay RM600 (1k-400). If claim RM350 (350-400=-50), then no pay at all.

Consider it bad luck and fix ownself.

Added on July 13, 2011, 11:16 amAdd-on: Also, the case is tricky as Car hit motorcycle, motor fell and hit your car.

Which means it is tricky that you need to claim from the motorcycle insurance, since the car did not hit you directly. The motor, if damaged, may claim from the car that hit it. rclxub.gif

Is like emergency stop, Car A hit Car B, Car B hit Car C.
Car C claims Car B insurance.
Car B claims Car A insurance.

Yes, and also inform your insurer.

In case there is major accident, the insurance company may not pay out anything, if the car specs does not match the default details + changes that you inform them.

Guys, i owned a wira 1.5GLI auto, normal problem like all wira 1.5 auto, slow pickup sad.gif . My friend owns a similar wira 1.5 but manual, and the pickup is very good, so i am considering to change my AT to MT, however i am noob in such things, and would like to ask the following question (please bear with me  tongue.gif ) :
1. Where can i find a mech to do all these stuff for me?
2. Whats the approximate price?
3. After some research on internet, i found some comment that it's better to change the engine as well, as some half cut shop provides engine with its manual gearbox as well, so i need comments smile.gif (Frankly i prefer this option  blush.gif so i would like to hear more on this)
4. JPJ issues, how do i notify them about the change?

Thanks

Don't forget need to inform insurance as well.

black smoke is probably caused by rich fuel mixture when engine too cold. I think your engine warm up too slow. If you have got your radiator overheating issue repair before then need to check if the radiator thermostat is installed or not. Sometimes incorrect sparkplugs also causing engine slower to warm up
*
I heard some people did not reinstall/replace the radiator thermostat during servicing radiator. They say since our tropical weather is always hot, it is not necessary, except when cold start in morning. hmm.gif

Any opinions / comments ?
