The logo will appear with a song after the boot screen bar success boot to windows.
For the windows vista logo is those windows vista come from longhorn.
To recognise that version is genuine you might refer to my picture attachment to prevent your confusing in windows vista.
*
Yup, it wil only appear after the boot screen bar. The one i posted is picture from internet punya. That is tweak from Xp one i guess. The original one looks shiny with song when boot up. smile.gif

Guys, I just wanna ask if I should choose Vista Home Premium Basic or Aero. My PC's memory is 1G but my video card is the Intel Graphic Accelerator x3000.

(><) I can't afford to upgrade my video card at the moment but if I choose Aero, would the PC lag when I use it? My friend said it would cause the PC to lag if I open several applications simultaneously.

I've already read from previous posts that Aero can run on 512MB memory, so I have no worries for that, only for the video card.

Advice please?
*
With 1GB of ram and a decent 128mb GC, u can run Aero without any glitch

erm guys my sis is going to get a new laptop for her studies, is it good now that she takes the windows vista home basic or should she take the free dos and get windows XP instead? The desktop is my house is using Xp ahem version and my laptop is also XP. It's very important that she gets to access the share files in my desktop. So erm will it have any problems since my desktop is using the ahem version of XP
*
U can share ur network with Vista with XP too. But there is known issue that some doesn't know how to configure the setting correctly. If u wan to be on the safe side, go for Xp. But if u wan to be on the WOW side, go Vista.

QUOTE
why the mp3 always will be choked for 1-2 seconds whenever I open an application, or running certain task that requires CPU and HDD works in Vista? I am using WMP11 to play...

other players have no problem though

I am sure its not because of insufficient RAM, I have 2 GB, and 15 GB left in C drive, or is it my processor isnt powerful enough?

Talking bout this my WMP seems the same too. It wil pause for about 5-6 seconds before it change song when i click on other song. 'media changing'.... Anyone experience it or is it just my WMP 11??

Added on March 8, 2007, 12:36 pmHow come my game folder under document empty? I thought it came preinstalled games.. Seems that i saw this folder before but when i click on the game folder it was empty?

I can't use my Thumb drive for Ready Boost. I got an error message that the thumb drive's performance is not enough for Ready Boost.

I did some reading online, and found out that I need a thumb drive with at least 2.5MB/s read & write. I benchmarked my thumb drive using HD Tach, and found that it's average speed 7.3MB/s and burst speed is 7.7MB/s is which is above the minimum read / write requirement.

It's a 1GB Pen Drive thumb drive with around 902MB free space.

How can I enable ReadyBoost?

edit:

I may know why. My thumb drive is in FAT format. I just read that ReadyBoost need FAT32 / NTFS formated drive.  doh.gif

If u wan to use Ready boost, go and buy those thumbdrive with logo Ready Boost. I believe Apacer 1GB Ready Boost selling for Rm70 only at Sri Computer

My question is, do you install any antivirus? I think many of us here have AV installed, and thus should be brontok free, no matter if it can infect vista or not.

yes,i'm currently using the "trial" norton that is given together with the system..
also had a few "attempted attacks" twarted whilst online a few days ago..

im planning on using the norton till the free updates dries up then move on to AVG,since it's free

Tried to install NAV2007 in Vista but not compatible..

QUOTE
by the way, my new comp which runs vista starts up and shuts down very slowly....does it happen to you guys as well?

Dun think so. It shut and start very fast. Only After installtion a program it shut down a little slower. But the next time, it will be back to normal. Faster than Xp a lot..Hehe

i think it scan idle processes and threads and cache it to free up ram.

BTW, for antivirus, i use Smantec Antivirus. work since vista beta->rc->retail
it's not the same as norton antivirus though. the interface just plain ol win98 era cuz it's meant for corporate use. but at least it do its job properly laugh.gif

Anyone experience 100% loading on explorer.exe in Vista? I checked up the net, most said due the search engine when you want to search something. I'm having that problem when want to open a folder with movie inside. Very buggy, making me switch back to XP.
*
So far, max of utilising ram of 85% only. Using 1GB of ram. I wonder if i were to purchase another 1GB of ram, will it cut it to half? Say like now idle mode is 45%, will adding another 1GB becomes 20%+? Still considering to change as my Notebook consist of 512mb + 512mb liau. So if wan 2GB must sell off 512+ 512 ram first lah..Hai.. shakehead.gif
