the auto restart problem I'm not very sure, because my phone didn't suddenly go blank or what just sometimes you will notice when you you to homescreen, it will reload all the data just like when you start the phone.

Camera quality is a big down side of HTC, but they are never known with their camera though...
Battery life is depends on your usage, but normal usage, both can stay at least a day...

Not cannot be rooted, because HTC put a lock inside Incredible S, it's harder to root with the lock is in the phone, There are people working on it..
