What is the different between plaza premium lounge and golden lounge?

Can the SCB Business Visa Platinum card used to enter PPL for free?

Added on May 13, 2012, 5:14 pmthe KLIA Premium Lounge is  only available for International Flights???
*
Plaza Premium Lounge (aka PPL) is a 3rd party lounge - anyone can enter this lounge so long you got money to pay the fees.
Golden Lounge is operated by MAS - entry only via paid Enrich Silver Subscription, Enrich Gold/Platinum or you are holding a business/first class ticket.

KLIA PPL only for international flights by virtue that you need to go to the satellite building to access it. If you are a local flight traveller then cannot.

I challenge you to go to the PPL lounge in KLIA while you are a domestic flight traveller. You will realize what @echoesian is trying to say.

most of these cc only allows entrance to plaza premium right?? I can't see any with entrance to MAS golden lounge..

Why priority pass don't team up with MAS golden lounge?
*
MAS operates their golden lounge to serve their priority customers namely Business and First Class travelers. If you noticed, some of their Enrich customers (depending on the membership class) are also allowed into their lounge. They use the lounge as a tool to build loyalty to the MAS brand. To my best knowledge under normal circumstances, the MAS Golden Lounge in KL, KK, KCH, PNG, SG are not even shared out to other airline operators.

You can enter the MAS lounge provided you have enough Enrich points which is 5000 for domestic flights and international flights starts from 8000 (KL) - 10000 (SG) 15000 (London). Or get yourself the WMC with Golden Lounge option - RM1.5K per year, cheaper than buying that membership directly from MAS which is RM1.9K per year.

You'll see a wealth of difference between PPL type lounges and MAS Golden Lounge and there's a good price to pay for that. Generally Priority Pass only teams up with 3rd party lounges from all over the world ... rarely you see they have access to good lounge coz it's always about cost. Examples of overseas good lounges from Priority Pass are the lounge in Bangkok and Seoul airport. In fact the lounge for Seoul airport are 3rd party lounge but also used by MAS and Korean Air - you can imagine the quality difference.

LCCT, yes provided the staff is not strict.
*
In LCCT, there's actually 2 lounges.
One before the gates and the other - after. The ones before the gates actually cater to transit customers and is better one. The one inside is the lesser one.

Went through the booklet that came with the UOB VI, no mention of PPL privileges.  Why so little information on benefits of this card?
*
The UOB VI offers the Priority Pass (PP) card which in turn provide access to the PPL. (PPL accept the PP)
Now, do you understand why the PPL is not mentioned ?

Please read the fine print of your Diners card - particularly on lounge access.
Taken from the website (Self explanatory)

"Travel and spend overseas with your Diners Club card to enjoy Access to Diners Club Airport Lounges worldwide. Come this September 2012, just charge a minimum of RM3,000 to your Diners Club card while you are traveling oversea and the Airport Lounge fee will be waived in your statement. Terms & conditions apply.

Effective Date: 01 September, 2012"

Until today I still not really utilize the MBB VI. Does the AF waivable ? This card is a invitation from MBB . My main usage still goes to 2 kard .
*
Yes, provided you need to sustain a RM50k (Corrected) spending per year on the card. FYI, for this card - the bank does not entertain any pleads to waive the AF.
To anyone who want the card but want the RM1K AF to be free then sorry ... this card is not for you.

It's RM50K for MBB VI and RM120K for MBB WMC.  nod.gif

MBB revised the MBB WMC AF qualifier to RM100K starting this year. There was a mass mailer sent out to all customers.

It is against the rules to pass your card to someone else

And they normally check boarding pass. So unless your card name is nearly the same....
*
Yup agreed. It may even look like the fella stole the card and might get a friend visit from the cops.
So, @ZONX ... please don't be too charitable (or a smart alec for even thinking to do such) and ask your friend not to be cheap or risk getting into trouble with the cops.

Just realised that the CIMB Visa Infinite i also grants unlimited access to Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide, which brings the number of credit cards granting unlimited Priority Pass lounge access in Malaysia to 6:

1. Standard Chartered Priority Banking Visa Inifinite

*
And SCB PB VI is not the only card with unlimited Priority Pass, the SCB VI also has that feature but this card is not open for applications anymore.

But CIMB Enrich WMC only offers 2 complimentary Golden Lounge entries a year?
*
Let the readers find out on their own that all complimentary lounges only applies to 3rd party lounges. Airline lounges are still (in 99% cases) exclusive to the airline itself and remain inaccessible via the bank's airline lounges promotions. As far as I know and remember only 3rd party lounges in Bangkok and Incheon are by chance also used by the airlines.

Xero800 probably failed to see that this card (CIMB Enrich WMC) is only open via invitation and don't forget the income requirement which is not similar to your (commonly available) "Platinum" income requirement which is basically "Gold" requirements (10 years or more back then) in inflation mode. Back then it was the MBB WMC offered access to MAS airline lounge but it was not cheap - RM1.5K per year and you have to ensure that you are travelling via MAS. (No longer offered since late 2012)

Even Citibank most exclusive card (Citi Prestige) could only offer 3rd party lounges.

I'm not sure about that as I haven't used the Senai PPL before.

According to Priority Pass website - Location: Airside - after Security Screening on the 1st Floor, turn right and then take the next right again. The Lounge is located next to the Tourist Information desk.
*
Senai PPL is open for both Domestic and International passengers. It's a commercial entity ... so anyone willing to pay the fees or having the right privilege to enter the PPL, will get to enter the PPL.

Is the Senai airport layout similar to Kuching International Airport's whereby the departure hall is shared for domestic and international flights, despite having separate entry points?

Yes.
